Why is Season 7 starting so late on 1/21/2025 when Season 6 came out on October 8th? I like Diablo 4 much better than POE1 or POE2 but the seasons are way too long especially considering that Season 6 was not that good.
well there are always some time discrepancies, tho id say this one is rather big as well.
nothing we can do about it =P
If they shorten the game and make it generally faster easier to complete, it follows that there will be a longer feeling of downtime between seasons.
There has been some variance to season length in D4. Some short of 3 months, others more like 4 months.
Last year S2 had very close to the same start/end dates as S6. I suspect, especially with us having a PTR, that scheduling around the holidays has a lot to do with the timing. Between expansion crunch to get that out by its deadline and the holidays, it’s not that surprising we see S7 using a recycled theme.
It’s pretty surprising since supposedly there was different teams working on these projects lol
When you’re facing a hard deadline for something the size of an expansion, you do whatever it takes.
Fairly certain that got thrown out the window when S4 was being developed due to the itemization rework. They pulled in all teams to work on it, also why it took longer to release and why S5 might as well not have happened.
They may be going back to this model of having two teams working on 2 separate seasons, but we’ll see.
Multiple teams , yeah right. If they had multiple teams we could have gotten better season 6 or better seasons overall.
They said the expanion was worked on way before the game release. What they have been doing over the past 1.5 years its a mistery.
They deleted a few lines here and there and called it a big rework. Also copying D3 stuff and calling it features that are new and never seen before.
All in all they really need to start working on stuff that defines Arpg’s and not copy Arcade or MMO stuff.
Apparently sometime around January 21st… oh why is it that day? Idk
Eh… I try not to think about how far away it is. I can’t wait to play D 4 again!
Are they gonna have a campfire chat before Season 7 though?
They can’t make seasons any shorter. They can barely add enough meaningful content each season as it is. And we all know the forums and socials will be on fire if they shortened seasons and then weren’t able to add new content each season.
The problem isn’t really the length of seasons, it’s how there’s no real meaningful endgame, to keep players busy, how leveling to 60 is done in a few hours, how item “progression” is over within a few days or week tops, and how bad Blizzard’s attempts at events are.
It’s W-2 and bonus season. You can’t rush art.
You really want even shorter seasons with these abysmal drop rates?
I think its from their previous experience when season 3 launched in week 1 of Jan earlier this year. The staff were either just coming back from holidays or some were still on holiday and season 3 launch didn’t go too well either. Happy holidays everyone.
Because the 20th is a holiday
Season 6 seams long b3cause blizzard shorted season 5 to line up with the launch of vessel of hatred.
Yes, but S6 is also almost to the week of the same start/end dates of S2.
It also seems long because… it is. S6 is the second longest season, behind season 3.
We went from the shortest season (by a month), to the second longest season. Of course people are going to complain about it feeling terrible lol.
USA year-end holidays.
no one will launch new content on 1/7/2025.
Because Spiritborn was overpowered, I lost interest in the other classes this season. Blizzard should avoid such an oversight as best as they can.
My Spiritborn peaked a little past halfway through Season 6, and the leveling of the paragon level got so dull. Past level 250, leveling became a crawl because of the enormous amount of experience points needed to level up. So I played POE2, and after seeing how sadistic it was, I returned to leveling my Spiritboirn again. The latter one-third of Season 6 was boring as hell to me. Blizzard should lessen the number of experience points to the next level past level 250.
