I am pretty close to BiS on my level 85 character. Not 100%, but 90% of my items have the ideal stats on them. Maybe not perfectly rolled, but enough to do level 45-50 NM dungeons pretty quick.
However, Helltides are just a COMPLETE waste of time to do in WT4. Maybe they are ok in WT3 because your chance of getting something that is an upgrade is higher, but in WT4, when you are already wearing all ancestral, it’s a waste.
I literally just got done running around and with about 10 mins of farming, I had 130 cinders.
I also just so happened to realize I had that many and I was right next to an Amulet chest. Amulet does happen to be the one item that I have pretty bad rolls on, so I took my shot. I waste 125 cinders to open it and…BAM…a SACRED legendary… And ONLY that. Literally 1 item.
Why are sacred dropping in WT4 from Helltide chests? If I have to spend my time to find cinders to open a special chest, it should AT MINIMUM roll ancestral (even rare would be acceptable).
On my way to get those 130 cinders, 8 Ancestral Rares fell from mobs that I would have a better shot at using.
TLDR: Helltides need a MAJOR overhaul or removed all-together.
Suggestions:
- WT4 helltides should only drop ancestral items. From a money from selling aspect to potential use, doing helltides in WT4 means you are in need of those ancestral items.
- If there is some insane reason you can’t fix that, then if no ancestral drop, at least have 2 random pots/essences drop out of every chest with the items. At least then it’s not a complete waste of time.
- In a perfect world, let us target farm. What I mean by that would be something like…Completely get RID of the chests, let us farm Aberrant Cinders, and have a vendor in the town that the helltide is around where you can pick Ancestral Legendaries. Sorta like the Obol vendor, but the vendor will give you an Ancestral legendary item for whatever class of armor or weapon you are picking.
