I think the writing is on the wall that this is the direction Blizz wants the game to go. I guess that’s fine, I hope everyone who keeps playing enjoys it. I’ve made my peace, game isn’t for me. That’s life I guess.

This game was never marketed as anything different in this regard to other Diablo games - playable solo or with others.

Yes, they said that you would need to group up to fight world bosses - but until recently, that wasn’t even actually true.

What I am upset about is that the game I bought a year ago that until this point had no content whatsoever locked behind grouping up now does so as one of the main features of a paid expansion.

Meaning that a fundamental shift in what I paid for is not accessible to me unless I make choices I never had to.

There is a massive difference between a few people whacking on the same enemy and dying here and there, and requiring multiple people to coordinate to complete a dungeon. And it will require coordination - we don’t know mechs yet but there will be two player puzzles. The fact that you refuse to acknowledge that these are different things lends me to believe you are either trolling or incapable of critical thought. No worries, I won’t be interacting with you anymore.

I have one rl friend left that I play with and I will absolutely be trying this content. It’s the principle of the thing that bothers me. I’m certain you can’t fathom that, either.

No - because the Diablo franchise has ALWAYS been focused on given both solo players AND groups the same content to play. If you don’t realize the change in focus… then I can’t help you there.

Developing content for a game is expensive. So it’s a choice for the devs to limit players that pay the SAME PRICE out simply because they moved the focus of the franchise. That’s not going to happen m8. I’m not paying 40 dollars for something I’m not going to play.

One dungeon isn’t a “Main feature” . It is heavily talked about because it is indeed a new thing for this series, but the main features of this expansion are the added story, class, and new zone.

You already made that choice (and not “those choices” plural) by buying a game that you knew was always online “openworld” with other players. You are already using multiplayer, and just because you don’t want to admit it you are ready to cut yourself from a whole expansion.

You are making a lot of assumptions that you can’t support with any evidence. As far as we know, the"team mechanics" you described are just “one player stands here to open a gate that allows the other player to stand on that other button to open the way for both of them”. See, I can make baseless assumptions too :wink:

What exactly are you thinking about when you say that “it will require coordination” ?
You said yourself that we don’t know any mechanic yet, but we do know it can be done by two players.

You make things up and try to force your views , throw a few insults on the way and yet you call me a troll… You’re not helping yourself here.

An expansion full of stuff and it isnt worth 40 bucks to you because it has one weekly dungeon that you are not forced to do. I mean to each their own but geeze.

So far there is

New class
New region with many zones
Many new dungeons
New strongholds
At least 3 new mob families with multiple models and classes
Merc system that looks pretty extensive compared to the past
New boss mobs
Some form of stat squish/progression/leveling system changes
New skills for all classes
Paragon rework + new paragon
New legendary glyphs
New endgame mode for solo or group that you can customize difficulty and rewards
New campaign/story/cutscenes
Inventory change on character sheet (there is at least one new tab and a changed icon on another)
New gear
There is a new icon on the character sheet that could be armory? maybe its just a wardrobe that you can do from anywhere
LFG finder that covers everything in game from exploration to bosses to endgame stuff

Thats what we know so far and I may have forgotten stuff. One new co op dungeon for people that like co op is what makes it not worth 40 bucks to you when you arent even forced to do it. I think you’re crazy but you do you.

You can’t say good/bad a game is w/o playing it.

You can dislike complex deep mechanics all you want but thats a personal bias not a general consensus.

Both exist for different types of people & many ppl will still play both of em.

500 hours is optimistic.

Off topic but you can fill the 20 character minimum with-

“asdfasdfasdfasdf” with “<” and “>” on either side and it will be invisible.

The co-op content is just one of many issues I have with this expansion. I did not ask for brand new class and have zero interest in it. I would have put at least 2 and one would have been Paladin.

You play D4 because of the dungeons? THey are one of the worst part of the game.

Strongholds? I skip every single one last 3 seasons - Even the ones that lock dungeons behind them.

As for new Region and the story… You played the story through more than once? I watch it on youtube lol

Paragon system and glyphs. Another weak point of this game. The glyph system even manages to remind us multiple times how horrible the dungeons in D4 really are. Over and over and over again.

Inventory change… yes new tab for the currencies for Blizzard to put more F2P mechs into the game…

And finally… THe new Merc system… The main reason I bought D4 was because it launched without it :wink:

So you see… The group CO-OP is just one of many reasons that I will be preparing for another ARPG when this expansion launches. Not that I want to… but because I have to. Cause forcing players… forces them out of your game.

PS… New endgame mode for solo and groups? Did not see that as focus brought out from Blizzard yesterday. Only talked about endgame mode that was LIMITED to co-op.

In fact there is ZERO talk about solo self found mode so you can put alot of pretty words together and act like players can customize their experience. When we all know this is not the case.

We have a small chance of finding a mythic unique in the open world, from obols and other sources. Yet, i’ve never seen it happen.

This thread is full of dishonesty and drama queens.

Just above we have someone that tells us that he skips many parts of the game and even just watched the story on Youtube (I guess the mandatory first run through it wasn’t enough ^^ ) and complains that he won’t be able to do the co-op dungeons because he refuses to do it…

This thread is a sad joke and a good example of the main issue of D4 : its community, or at least the vocal “majority” (well, they do think they are the majority anyway ^^ )

Crying rivers of fake tears because there is a co-op dungeon with nothing gated behind, because they don’t want to “group” with ONE other player in an always online multiplayer game where you are always in an openworld along with many others.

Please do make your threats a reality: Don’t buy the expansion, quit this game and stop playing it, I’m sure that will teach Blizz :wink:

Ok well at least this reasoning makes more sense than your initial post. If you dont find value in anything it offers then yeah dont buy it. I just think if it were only about a single dungeon then its pretty silly. Sounds like you don’t like the base game either.

I guess we will have to wait and see how rare they actually are. Only time will tell. I dont think they should drop like candy. I also dont think they should be mythic rare either. Maybe like 2GA rare is what I think.

Is it like “Mythic Unique” small chance or “Tempest Roar” small chance?

No one knows but the devs atm.
