Ring of Mendeln builds are not Viable because it completely destroys Minion focus builds if you use it. Why? Because the Ring is based off the Necromancers’ stats, which increases the ring Dmg; Minions don’t increase Ring Dmg. It Procs from source like Bone Storm, Bone Prison, Bone Spear, Corpse Explosion, or any other Lucky Hit Chance abilities that will Proc the ring in order for it to scale and to Dmg. Lets not forget Skill Points, Paragon point investments into Crit Dmg, Bone Skills or Wither, and armor stats like Lucky Hit, Crit Chance/Dmg, etc., and then you invest into Aspect that go into either Corpse Explosion, Bone Spear, and or Bone Storm. This is called the Ring of Mendeln build, because YOUR build focuses around building around the Ring for Dmg/Procs. Its not a Minion build. A minion build would be; are you invested into Cult Leader and Hulking Monstrosity? Do you have all the Minion Aspects? And yes, you can have all for “almost” each piece of Armor. All Minions active, including Golem, Curses, skill points focused on Minions, etc. That is a Minion build, because it focuses on what… Minions. You can Hybrid and do a Bone Spear and Minion build, which would be called a Bone Spear Minion build Hybrid. Nothing wrong with it.
Your argument is like this, for Bone and Blood that uses Sacrifice, “it’s a Minion build at the end of the day, because you still use Minions to sacrifice, even though the build focuses on either Blood/Bone”. This argument makes not sense. Like I wrote to another person, the build you’re building around is what the build is. You don’t say you’re building a House, and the final product becomes a Car, instead of a House, and continue to claim its a house because it has Windows and a Door even though we can see its a Car.
This is false, because the Dmg comes from the User and Ring procs, not Minions. So, yes they can use Minions, but the Minions aren’t the ones doing the Million Dmg you see. YOU are empowering the Minions through Procs, while the Dmg mainly comes form you through your stats/build not through the Minions and Minion investment.
You can still play Minion build and do certain endgame, but not at the level and speed of other classes and builds who’re puling 1+ Million Dmg.
Good for you, but Ring of Mendeln is not a Minion Build.
not sure were you’re going with this post, but for all thos who want to play Minions at higher tier is not possible. You can for the current, your level, or 10-20 levels above for Pure Minion, though you’ll take 3x the time to clear it compared to other class clearing builds. If you want a build, use the “Ring of Mendeln” build, which isn’t a Minion build, or, some infinimst something, or Bone Spear build.
