He’s right, and your reaction is what Everquest players said about WoW too. Yet WoW became king. It’s what Blizzard does.
Wow was good, Blizzard was fantastic back then. But now…
Seems unnecessary to add an entire game mode for the ten players who would play it… but wouldn’t hurt me for it to exist so sure. Why not? lol
I mean, solid point, but the premise is right. It’s been their MO for a while. Albeit, they’re not as good at it as they used to be. Tho I’ll say the past few years they’ve turned a corner. I’m more optimistic because of it.
You can have an opinion on how you feel about their games but it’s simply true regardless of your feelings. Not even sure why you are here if you think their games are bad.
There is a reason they bring in so much money, Blizzard is one of the best at making games for the majority of gamers, they don’t focus on just niche markets with niche views on what you and possibly I consider great for a game. Blizzard is far from perfect but saying they are not top tier in the industry is just silly.
Wow, made a polite post asking for a request and so many cry babies and haters. Good god.
All ARPG’s are almost the same…how is a game mode any different in one game vs another? And they all copy each other. Just quit with this wannabe righteous BS.
You play standard mode? Okay cool. You play Hardcore? Okay cool. You play Ruthless mode, okay cool.
BTW 3 Devs that make PoE…come from Blizzard North…you know the game department that made this ENITRE FRANCHISE…How in the _____ are you going to hate on PoE and be so ignorant. And 2 devs are still with the company…Google It…
And PS: PoE and other ARPGS have Hardcore as well, they copy it from D2. And in PoE’s case, did not copy it all at since they were part of the original team that came up with it.
Would you kids get off your parents internet and quit being so ignorant …
You were unaware that making a thread on a subject is an invitation to discuss it from both supporters and detractors? Welcome to the internet, friend. Enjoy your stay.
I guess so. It was just a request, not an invitation for a debate lol.
It’s a cool game mode. Last night there was 19k people on one Ruthless server, it was cool to see. Like the game mode, would love to see it come to D4 or their version of it.
Yeah Ruthless would be awesome here.
… You posted it on the PC General Discussion forum. What did you think would happen? That’s like walking into Waffle House and being upset they serve waffles.
Anyway. Let’s wait see what the game feels like first before deciding whether punishing ourselves further is necessary. We don’t know, for example, how much items will rain from the sky in D4.
2 things you forgot to mention were XP being nerfed and crafting being turned off. The XP doesn’t bother me much, but crafting… D4 seems rather heavily invested so far in being able to move around your affixes and upgrade your gear. With PoE items, as I understand it, they can still roll the high affix ranges even without the crafting system. But D4 won’t drop “upgraded” items, at least not that we know of.
Forums are built for discussion, not for one-way communication with devs.
You really shouldn’t post on a forum if you don’t want people to have their own opinions about things you post.
I think something like this is far more likely in an expansion than at launch, and I cannot imagine why anyone would EVER want to play a game with less fun loot, but… to each their own. I think the game’s population will be high enough that there’s no fear of diluting the playerbase to the point where things seem dead, so I don’t see any harm to adding a mode like this, even if I suspect it’d be a ghost town.
Best of luck - I hope they eventually entertain something like this. I’m, in general, all for more options for players to tailor their experience. This kind of falls under the same type of ‘player control’ as controlling shard population, for me.
bro, these forums are rife with people that will go to war over this game being anything but “my little ponies online 4”
its insane.
you post a suggestion that they dont have to partake in and they act like youre coming for their right to eat.
just go play poe please
Idk it’d be hard to say I’d want a ruthless mode before even playing the game on normal drop rates at launch. I think it works for POE but this game is also pretty different when it comes to design and end game.
Great idea. Make this game mode for all the “game is too easy” whiners and let the rest of us play with D3ish drop rates.
But probably too much work involved for the 0.1% who will use that mode. ![]()
i think the idea itself isn’t bad and i would be playing it actually.
except this part , allowing trading in such a mode would simply invite even more RMT and botting , making it more pay to win than actual “ruthless” anything, making that mode rather pointless more than anything aside from the people wanting to make some money through RMT and JSP i guess… but those aren’t players to begin with
if you want true ruthless anything , any form of trade shouldn’t be possible , anything that make the game easier shouldn’t be possible…what the point of making it easy if you want it ruthless ? just to do RMT ?
if you want true ruthless it should be Self-found , even simply for gold, it’s a non-sense to make it a trade mode.
also , it might divide even more the playerbase (considering said mod will maybe also have seasonal mode and hardcore mode) so there might be that problem too
Can the darn thing launch before requesting more difficulty layers ???
What? Did you think this forum was a direct line to the developers?
You posted in a public forum, so the public will have the ability to discuss it.
Enemies level up with you, your damage is based on your weapon, and the game is balanced around being equipped with legendary aspects.
You’d get to around a certain level and stall out since the more you farm for the items that aren’t dropping, the stronger the enemies get. It wouldn’t be difficult, just too tedious.
If you want a more difficult option, come up with an idea that would actually work with how Diablo 4 is made.
