The debuff mechanic is bs.
It makes the game unplayable for weaker players, casuals, non-overpowered builds.
Diablo should be for everyone and not only for the blasters that kill the boss in 3 seconds.
Why don’t you just make normal boss fights.
It’s okay when they take a minute but the scaling of the debuff is just ridiculous.
With 3 stacks you are a onehit wonder… cause you get instantly killed by boss attacks.
It’s just bad design at all.
Personally I would have a lot more fun in this game when this crappy debuff mechanic will go!
Or shift the mechanic… remove it from pit 1 - 150 and bring it back from 150 - 200.
Then it’s designed for the op builds that feel it’s to easy but no problem for the average player.
I actually like the debuff.
Anyone has the ability to kill the bosses. S4 i did HC tormented durry on a highly undergeared FO sorc. It took me 13 min to do.
Just need to learn the fights and now stand in fire.
For pit they just added debuffs to remove oneshot.
Just don’t stand in the fire.
You are very welcome.
How about a compromise? An easy mode for players such as yourself and a hard mode for those who like a challenge? No need to get rid of something, just add more options. Everybody wins.
Dont they already have that tho? Ppl can control there difficulty when selecting the level
Not for boss stacks though. On easy mode they would just be removed for example. However the other compromise would be they wouldn’t drop as much loot either. With greater risk comes greater reward in my opinion.
But id argue that if you were playing a lower level there isnt enough time to get enough stacks.
The options are there.
We already have all the easy modes anyone would want. WT3 has bosses, WT4 has non tormented bosses, and Pit 61 is all that anyone needs to do to fully masterwork.
I actually agree with you, I think designing around broken builds or OP MYTHIC required builds is stupid.
It is too much work to actually make the bosses harder so they just added this and it is bs.
But that said:
I beat TVarshan with 6 of them. ![]()
Yeah it surprised me too. I always heard once you have 2 or 3 it is basically over.
O man I would love a hard mode to be added, the new system just isn’t it tho, it’s still all ez mode
But my feet are cold.
they implemented the debuff so it wasnt just instant 1 shot kills because people cried about those. now you can be a newb and be hit by the shadow boss mechanics multiple times before the damage ramps up. the obvious answer is to avoid the mechanics and not get the debuff
Not the one with Lilith that comes down in a circle that is drawing you in…that one still one shots me if I don’t have a mobility skill to get out of it. The other Lilith ones are easy to avoid.
thats what the unstoppable skills are for. if i see her come out i know im saving my skill that gives me unstoppable for when that is cast so i can get out of the circle.
Well let’s take Pit for example. The current version not the new. Bosses start giving you stacks so you have to avoid mechanics entirely. Makes sense.
Now what if there were an alternative easy mode with the same Pit tier, but it wouldn’t offer as many rewards and the bosses wouldn’t have the stack mechanic?
Now let me propose something else. Moving forward Torment 2 and lower would not have this stacking mechanic or it would have a lower cap that made you take more damage but wouldn’t lead to you getting one-shot. So Torment 1 would have a cap of 1 stack, torment 2 with 2 stacks and torment 3 and 4 would have the 3-stack one-shot mechanic?
For those who wish to take on Torment 3 and above it’ll come with greater risk but also greater reward. Gradually show the player a progression in this punishing mechanic rather then just throwing them into the deep end and hope they swim type of deal.
Exactly, people are now complaining about something put in the game to make it easier.
Most don’t stay up to date or do any research though.
I don’t mind the debuff personally. Gotta learn the fights to not get hit. Once they lower the boss HP I think it’ll be a great change, as currently the fights are just way too long.
If you remember there was no stacking debuff, and people were complaining about one shots.
Now people are complaining about getting enough stacks to get oneshot.
Pretty funny stuff.
Do you really want a game so easy you feel like you accomplished nothing?
It is extremely annoying in high pit. I won’t deny my patience there is a variable though.
IH giving mats made it irrelevant and I’m sure that the tier adjustments will make it irrelevant for those playing next season.
The stacks on this season’s PTR was what killed any remaining pit push desire for me. Personally I don’t enjoy fighting something with billions if not quadrillions of health taking most of the time up in the instance, and now I also have to dance around and LoS further reducing my uptime lest I get stacks that will kill me? No thx.
It’s perfectly fine on a 200 boss. Don’t stand in bad.
Completely subjective. Some people are just after entertainment without too much fuss. There’s a reason why a lot of games have easy to insane difficulty modes. Developers know not everyone is going to want a challenge and is just happy going through a game casually.
On the flip side they add the insane difficulty modes because they know there are people out there who love it. Neither side is wrong in how they want to entertain themselves. We can all have what we want with more options.
