Reasons to play an Eternal Realm Character?

Do you mean releveling??? Also…not sure how it is moronic to like the Seasonal aspect of creating and leveling a new character each time. That is literally what Seasonal is all about.

I would argue that sticking with the same character is also like an MMO tbh.

Glad to have your opinion in this post. Will let you know when it is actually valid  Note: may take 7-10 business days.

Yet another overly opinionated forum user. Just how many of you are there? The Us vs. Them mentality is getting crusty. Sounds like you are yet another forum user who refuses to set foot into the game. And if that is indeed the case…you literally don’t have any kind of stakes in any of this. I could understand if you actually played, but it sounds like you don’t tbh.

It’s okay to dislike the game, but to call people that play Seasonal or the game in general lab mice is kinda uncalled for.

Sounds like gaming is not your cup of tea, or at least not anymore. So…I should think that you could find literally anything else to do instead of posting an inflammatory thread in a post that was fine up 'til now.

And a parting note: Let the Seasonal people enjoy their Seasons, and the Eternal people enjoy their kinder side of D4. No need for name calling imo.

And one more thing: Is it the players that enjoy the game that are the lab mice, or the person who is obsessed with bashing the game, just like every other tired Karen? Conformity may not be a sin, but you’re doing a bang-up job of getting it there. If you’re hearing a squeaky hamster wheel nearby, it might be due to being on one yourself :smirk:

The only activities in the game are for leveling and progressing. Once you have everything, there is no activity to actually do. Kill lilith over and over, I guess? fun core gameplay.

That’s why Blizzard breaks eternal gear multiple times a year. So eternal players can get that dopamine hit you hate so much.

There are seasons in diablo 2.

Maybe you should ask the reasons to play a season Realm which you have no access to the gold, resources and gears you already have? For me is no reason, unless I am obsessed with chasing the giant dog. Hope in S7, they will change it to mini cat.

I play eternal cause I find it to be a waste of time to keep finding things I already have (Glyphs, Aspects, Gear, Gold etc.).

  • What’s the joy in finding BiS items if you can only enjoy them for a short period of time?
  • What is the incentive of playing in the last month of the season when all your stuff has limited life span?
  • What’s so fun about the seasonal quest that you are willing to find and level everything all over again?

I prefer the end game, and crafting the build I want relatively quickly. I played too many hours to let my efforts turn to nothing.

looking for someone to convince me

Why? You are free to play seasonal if you prefer lol

the only thing worth reading from this drivel was your piss poor attempt at wit in your last paragraph

don’t start trying to write your own harry potter saga or anything, i use “worth reading” more loosely than a prostitute in 1920s Berlin

TL;DR: Just in case my “Harry Potter saga” is too long or challenging for you to read–sounds like you are more hurt that I don’t share some sort of skewed/in-the-minority opinion. And also…I did state that you had a right to your opinion…just maybe stop trying to force-feed it to the rest of us.

Your non-logic logic has been noted. I wouldn’t call anything you post wit either tbh. It doesn’t take much of any kind of intelligence to literally sit and bash someone for having a separate opinion–and in your case you bashed pretty much all Seasonal players, and D4 players in general.

But by all means, continue to tell me how my posts lack any wit

Also, since you seem keen on claiming I lack wit…here’s a definition of what wit actually is:
Wit: mental sharpness and inventiveness; keen intelligence

Anyway…hard to have much for wit when most of your logic is based on overlaying your own opinion over a topic and referring to it as a fact…seeing many people do this lately. Especially those that are attacking others for not sharing their opinions.

Praising a few good things done by this game is not the same as defending it. And also…saying that if people can’t see how bad the game is, they are part of the problem??? Not referring to you.

This Us vs. Them mentality has zero logic to it. Just a bunch of butthurt ex Diablo-fanboys that want to drive a wedge further between them and the rest of the forum community. And afaik this is also a well-known military tactic as well: isolate, weaken, attack. Which I find sad. Not pathetic, just…sad

Took this from another post tbh. But my point exactly…but yeah. Shun the nonbelievers!!! Shuuun!

I would not call refuting your asinine bashing and non-point points with logic “drivel”. Continue using words incorrectly, or better yet…maybe invest in a dictionary?

i hope that was theraupetic for you cause i didn’t read a single word

Okay. And it helped me a little, yeah! And that is your prerogative/choice tbh. Have a good day! :grimacing:

I don’t care about convincing some random stranger on the forums about anything. Get a life.

For me it is pretty simple, I will never make this game a second job (no longer on disability so I have a first job), and even if I had the time I just cannot fathom wanting to start over every few months. It’s an utterly foreign concept to me and yeah I have played every game in the series without ever even getting curious.

Like, when I came back and made a new spiritborn I went straight to eternal because I had a few million gold, several hundred of mats, and 165 paragon. I would be crazy to repeat any grinding at all though considering I have never reached an end point.

I actually lost interest in my necromancer because they legacy’d all my gear and changed the talent tree. I even boosted it but just can’t seem to find it interesting anymore,
though to be fair at least I will always have it.

If I wasn’t currently enjoying spiritborn I would probably write this game off as a complete waste of my time. I do not like being force reset every few months, wow became like that and I just can’t do it anymore and actually kinda wish I hadn’t done it as long as I did.

Yeah I am that player who pays for the game and plays it for maybe 20 hours on a single class and build, quits until the expansion then doubles down for probably 20 more. It will take me a few months of 90 minute sessions to get there though so there’s that.

It isn’t that cost effective I guess but I always think I will be more into it than I actually ever am. Rng really grinds my gears in my old age, I am just not a gambler so much of the appeal goes over my head, if it ever landed to begin with.

I suspect I am part of a greater pattern just players like me don’t tend to use the forums. Sometimes I get bored is all and I can write this from my phone while lying in bed.

What do you want for nothing?

Okay…didn’t think it was that big a deal to ask for people’s opinions on the forum, tbh–that is the point of the forums, in my mind–the exchange of information/knowledge, and having spirited debates.

But by all means, literally jump down my throat over a simple question…had it done enough lately both on the forums and irl.

Casual Bob here i guess, minus the 4 jobs and 16 kids…
Is this just unconscious bias by you or are you really this dense?

Yeah, I get that tbh. Starting over every few months can be a drag, especially if you have a full-time job too. Idk when they started calling Seasons “Seasons” in the Diablo series. Afaik in D2/D2R, it was called Ladder. So…perhaps D3 was the first???

Honestly, this is just concern trolling by the OP and should be reported as such. There have been hundreds of threads about this. Eternal is here to stay. They even gated the Welcome Back boost to Eternal.

It doesn’t affect you. Don’t play it. You hate clogging your queue for seasonal, then delete your character at season’s end. I don’t see the problem. It’s crying and trolling at the same time. The OP needs to be banned forever.

Wow. Very strong opinion you have there! I’m not even complaining about Eternal tbh. It might have started out that way in the beginning, but it was ultimately asking about reasons to play Eternal. Thought I was in line there, but I guess not???

Oh, painfully aware of that. However, they are all a year old or more. Last time I checked, they reserve the right to ban you for bumping old threads. Thought I’d start a new one. Is it hurting you? Not really

This is the last time I get involved with a clearly angry person. I could argue the people that are actually being inflammatory about issues and bashing the devs should be banned. But honestly, if you don’t want to see these kinds of posts in the future, perhaps use your mute button like a sensible person.

The part in bold was my main concern in posting this on the forums…but take it or leave it tbh.

I shouldn’t have to sit here and convince you I don’t need banning. Clearly you’ve convinced yourself otherwise. Honestly…not sure if this is serious, or if you’re trolling me somehow

A definition of what concern trolling is??? Either way, pretty sure I’m not guilty of it. Have a nice day, Eisen. And perhaps use your mute button if you don’t like something/someone’s post. Cheers! :beers:

Edit: found the definition: concern troll: A concern troll offers undermining criticisms under the guise of concern. Their goal is to sabotage the cause being discussed, and to inspire doubt among group members. This occurs in groups rallied around a particular issue, especially in political parties, and the goal of concern trolling is to cause dissent within a community.

Okay, so…my question to you, Eisen, is this: How can I be a concern troll when I literally started this thread myself? In no way am I sabotaging a topic, trying to inspire doubt in anyone, etc. And last I checked, the forums are not defined as a political party…a community yes, but not a political party. I am not causing any form of dissent, either…

If it’s not hurting you, then likely it isn’t hurting anyone else, either. Just move forward and don’t look back, please.

No, eternal dont matter.

Its been proven again and again.

How do you prove that I don’t enjoy continously progressing the same character I’ve been playing since game release, instead of chasing some drip fed dopamine fix of “releveling” the same character over and over every couple of months?

I say “releveling” since the leveling process is a joke now, should just be completely removed at this point.

I guess eternal is for those that need two years to progress in a game that only has 3 months worth of content.

Ahh. Thought I might be seeing you on here again :grimacing: I didn’t ever say you didn’t enjoy it. Just stated it was like an MMO too. Just like your statement about releveling a character being like an MMO. Which, if I know MMOs…you usually do stick to one character. So there is really no releveling in one. Unless you are playing something different from me, which is in all honesty possible.

i wasn’t even replying to you wtf

man you’ve got some serious abandonment issues
