Wouldn’t it be nice if the devs actually posted on their own forums once in a while?
Or at least update the news page, the last article was June 21 and it’s a recap of the stream.
There’s still plenty of issues and it’s be nice if we at least had some kind of notice board or something to let us know what’s been acknowledged as a problem and what’s being investigated or worked on etc.
Like I shouldn’t have to go digging on YouTube to find out any kind of news on the game’s status.

No no no, you don’t use the OFFICIAL forums outlet.
You use twitter or reddit or anything else to get messages out, and respond to folks. I know I always say to myself “hmmmm I’m having issues with product/company X, so my best bet isn’t to use THEIR website, I’d better go click on random pages and hope they post info and updates there”

Should they hold your hand, through every little thing they do? should they constantly ask your permission to do their work, oh lord and master Mal. Guess they need to appease you.
When there is a bloody update, they will update.
Diablo IV Patch Notes — Diablo IV — Blizzard News there was just a patch update 5 days ago. PAY ATTENTION. They don’t need to tell you everything they are working on. They have done it a good bit tho. via their live streams, maybe wait on that too. there should be one closer to end of month or beginning of next month. (dont quote me)

None of that excuses their reluctance to respond to anything at all on the official forums.
I am sure responding to players whining on their official forum is their very TOP priority.

Responding or even speculating on the proper suggestions/feedback threads would go a long way for customer relations.

They dont owe you explanations. or details on what they are working on, they made no promise to post on the forums, the forums wasnt made for them, it was made for players.
They respond to that in patch notes and live streams.
You want people to appease you? Goto Burger king, where you can have it your way.
Because no matter what they do, people are going to whine “REE you’re posting here but not listening, REE you gave us all 100 billion gold but I wanted materials REEE!!”
Theres a thing called valid criticism, but you all are just whining.

Other devs are pretty open about that stuff.
For all the flak Massive and Bungie get, at least they regularly communicate with their users. The Division 2 even has an official notice board listing the status of various issues. Though funny enough the Ubisoft forums are all gone now and it’s all on Discord now so that’s funny.
And God forbid we as paying customers demand any kind of standards. The only way to hear from the devs seems to be on Twitter (I refuse to call it X) and sometimes Reddit. The only way I even hear about future updates is from the various CCs like Rhykker who post videos letting us know what’s up.
You know, the kind of stuff THEY USED TO HAVE COMMUNITY MANAGERS FOR. But as we all know Kotick would rather fire them all routinely and then do last minute emergency hires if the need arises because lol @ Blizzard’s management.
No one is demanding they respond to each and every little thing posted on here, especially when a lot of it is people whining about trivial crap or even something valid but for like the 1000th time.
But something like a weekly blog shouldn’t be unreasonable, and it’s been a month since the News page was updated.
Hell I remember when they actually did used to occasionally respond to forum posts for their other games.
Also the snark is completely uncalled for.
With all the whining and crying on this forum?
Ya…i will snark it up all i want because i cant say what i really want to say to all these babies.
If the Blizzard devs want a good example of communicative & receptive devs, look no further than the Warframe team. They love their job and are proud of their game and love to talk about their plans and what they’re working on, even if something is unpopular, they address it.

They’re also not stuck working for the most overpaid, tyrannical CEO in the industry.
HOTFIX 1 - August 18, 2023 - 1.1.2 hey look they posted on the forums a day ago, so there ya go cry harder.
Maybe pay them so they will tell you all you want to know. You’re not their boss, they dont care what you think. They participate with players via their live streams by answering their questions. once again, cry harder.
So many blizzard employees defending the company in so many threads its pretty funny lol

Hmm…
What would you consider as a “timely” update? Weekly? Bi-weekly? Monthly? I understand your frustration, but it is more helpful if you give the devs more to go on than “you need to update your news page and the forums”.
I do agree that we need a “Bug Forum” within the each forum (console and pc) so any issues between the two platforms can be easily tracked and acknowledged.
When the devs that provide us with updates and the state of the game are also the same devs that have to fix the issues and launch those updates, communication suffers. No excuse, but that is the reality.
I suggest that the devs consider reaching out to the forum communities at the same pace as social media, if possible. If it is not possible, then at least every week to every two weeks depending upon what is happening.
From my experiences, dev teams do not seem to respond well to “Wouldn’t it be nice if…”
Your tinfoil hat is too tight
Considering the horrendous state of the game, review bombs and people leaving in droves it’s incumbent on them to keep us posted at this point.
I already cited a weekly blog similar to what Bungie does for Destiny as a good example, but they gotta do something.
Wudi just did another 30+ min rant about it all and this time I couldn’t agree more with him (except the shot at consoles - the problem is the game is cross gen, PS5 can handle it fine it’s PS4/XB1 that are the problem)
There’s also all the talk now about how the next Diablo titles will have much shorter development times and that couldn’t be coming out at a worse time.
The damage control needs to get cranked way up.

Any shot at consoles is unjustified IMO.
Bad UI? That’s because the designers did not bother making the UI more customizable based on input method (kb/m vs controller)
Bad performances? Concerns about increasing density impacting performances? That’s because the devs are probably asked to prioritize pretty graphics over performances.

Agree 100% and I’d add the crappy controller targeting & focus isn’t a “console issue” but a dev skill issue.

Well, game companies are at a crossroads at this point when it comes to crossplay access; should they include last gen consoles/pc’s or not? Since Sony hasn’t given a hard deprecation date for the PS4, I think some game companies are finding it difficult to move on; after all, they dont want to lose out on profits from a large customer base, even if it is from last gen technology. I am not sure if Microsoft announced a deprecation date for the XB1.
Don’t hold your breath as far as cranking up any damage control; that will happen on the dev’s schedule, not the player communities schedule. It took Square-Enix 3 years to figure out that Crystal Dynamics was not doing a good job with Marvel Avengers (even after all of the complaints and a huge drop in player activity) to the point of having to break ties with them and putting the game on maintenance mode at the end of September of this year.
One can only hope that Blizzard figures out and fixes the issues with Diablo in less than 3 years.
Oh 100%, but there’s no denying that last gen systems are holding things back, most notably because they don’t come standard with an SSD or ultra fast processor.
And then you have Microsoft’s stupid insistence on parity between the S and X models of their machine - something that’s causing headaches for Baldur’s Gate 3 lol.
- Oh forgot to add devs have confirmed via Twitter (yet again be nice if we could find out this stuff from the game’s own website/forums) that the fix for Resistances will be ready for Season 2.
Assuming there’s still anyone left to play S2.
