I know pvp is not that important to many, hell even iā€™m not really into it much. But the second a selig barb shows up (and they do) you just have to leave. You are not going to have a chance to covert. If it was a LTP thing i would be ok with it but you can seriously do nothing. I hate nerfs, all classes have an OP as heck build, leave em be, but this item is game breaking in this aspect of the game.

Itā€™s all classes NOT just the sorc and the barb so itā€™s not like it makes just one class immortal everyone can have it so why nerf it?

you really dont lose a lot of damage. i have a selig so let me explain. if i set my barb up to use selig my hota still crit op for 100m. i crit damn near all the time and op is damn near all the time also. so i am constantly doing 60-100m to everything. now like someone previously said the new glyph giving 4-5x dmg multiplier thats just upping to like 300-500m constant op crits. oh an with selig i dont have to worry about any damage coming in. without selig and still speccing for survivability i would just be doing double maybe triple the damage but potentially having survivability issues.

so explain to me how its not as great as everyone thinks?

Dude I still donā€™t think itā€™s gonna work manā€¦ Part of keeping full resource comes with fury on Crit and fury on Killā€¦ I just donā€™t think you will be able to maintain full fury in later AoZ if ur not killing in 1 HOTA and spending 60-70 manā€¦ You are overlooking some key aspects of how HOTA functions in play. So spend fury and drain fury with Seligā€¦ I doubt itā€™s gonna workā€¦ Iā€™m calling it right now

More specifically it canā€™t be in an ONLINE game.
since it impact every other players and will impact ladder , pvp and hardcore making any challenge : null and void.

Itā€™s like cheating pretty much.
And removing any kind of challenge in a video game isnā€™t really fun for most people.

though , yes many loved toying with cheat code in offline game like grand theft auto 3 etcā€¦
but in an online game where it can impact everyone else by making pvp area simply unplayable except by these ā€œimmortalā€ players : itā€™s simply very bad balance and obviously unintended

wanting something akin to cheating in term of power is fine and dandy but it makes lot of other players not able to enjoy the game (especially in pvp) simply because some want to abuse this.

How does Selig let you survive a 100m crit?

  1. there is no ā€œ100m critā€ in pvp , each damage is highly reduce (because no players have million of HP)

i dont think you fully grasp how selig works. i can use hota plenty and never run low on resources with mobs constantly attacking me too, in a t100. aoz is going to be a joke for immortal barb builds, however it will give the dev team lots of info in regarding what they need to change to balance things.

doesnt make them immortal only, it does across the board, just not barb and sorc only.

Funny this is this item was not nerfed for balance reasons. Blizzard specifically stated it is because of performance issues. I predicted the nerf but for wrong reason! ITs perfectly fine guys (hahahahaha) and just was downgrading performance. See Bliz notes.

A quick few notes prior to the 1.2.3 update coming to Diablo IV on Tuesday via a same day server side hotfix.

The Melted Heart of Selig will no longer count as the player spending resources when resource is drained from damage taken in PvP zones.

We are doing this because of an interaction that is causing some performance issues for players. Per our earlier commitments, we will make our best efforts to not nerf builds during the Season and we are only applying this as it is impacting player game performance.

For Season 3 this will be fixed for all areas outside of PvP as well.


That is mind blowing to me to say this item was perfectly fine but was downgrading performance so we nerfed it. Unreal.

Whatā€™s ironic here is that streamers doubled down on Druids being the worst class during beta and then lo and behold pre season 1 it was a S tier.
These are people who NEED to ā€œsensationalise contentā€ via trash talking something, then go ā€œoh look, isnā€™t this amazing, this trashy thing is actually really goodā€ for clicks, because theyā€™ve already had that build sorted out months in advance.

Maybe Blizzard thinks itā€™s fine for players to fill the entire screen with level capped mobs and proceed to blindly facetank them with minimal user input while being immortal. Stranger things have happened.

Besides, itā€™s not like players stumbling upon stuff breaking the game is a new development. If anything itā€™s normal at this point. The game is consistent in that regard.

Was they way they did this nerf a way to save face? Oh sorry guys we had to nerf this because of performance issues. Not because it made ppl immortal while afk and butcher beating on you? For reals?!

I have 4 chars and I am not looking forward for this amulet.
There is always other amulet better than this for certain builds.
To me, this is second worse uber.

It is not like Selig is in the same lvl as GF or Shako.
