So when you do a tunnel, each tunnel has a chance to randomly have a door in it that leads to a secret room where you can use the invoker to summon Varshan.

Not every tunnel has these rooms, looks like a dead end with a double wooden door. The map also shows it as a dead end so you have to go look for it. You will find it at the end, usually branching off from the hall that leads to the regular spot where you can use a normal invoker.

Also be aware that for the seasonal journey you have to kill him on both wt3 and wt4, and that you have to kill him on wt3 to get the recipe for the wt4 invoker.

yeah, im on t3.
i only did the fight for the season story, didnt tried any echo yet.

thanks for the tips. at least now i know what to look for.

also, can you give me any tips for that rare invoker? i only got lucky once in doing it by recipe.

Well first you need to know that there are 3 Invokers of Varshan and combine this with Twists post.

  1. Involker of Varshan
    Applies to World Tier II and you get the first one in the Season Questline
    Invoker of Varshan can be crafted from (one each) Brutal invoker, Visious invoker, Devious invoker
  2. Foul Involker of Varshan
    applies to World Tier III to fight the echo of Varshan in World Tier 3
    You get the recipe for “Foul invoker of Varshan” by killing “The echo of Varshan” in World tier II
    You can craft “Foul invoker of Varshan” by having a “Invoker of Varshan” and some sigil dust.
  3. Tourmented Involker of Varshan
    Applies to World Tier IV to fight the echo of Varshan in World Tier 4
    You get the recipe for “Tourmented invoker of Varshan” by killing “The echo of Varshan” in World tier III
    You can craft “Tourmented invoker of Varshan” by having a “Invoker of Varshan” and I think its fiend roses and demon hearts (you ll see in the craft recipe)

ps: you would expect the craft of “Tourmented invoker of Varshan” to have “Foul invoker of Varshan” as ingredient… but nope ^^

Unfortunately that’s the only way to get it, through crafting. I think they were trying to make us have to put some work into farming wrathful hearts.

But idk I’m at 73 and I’ve got tons of materials so I don’t think it’s too bad.

I just found the door.
but as CinRa said, looks like i will have to go back to T2 just to kill him there with the key(invoker) I have to unlock the other version. kinda pointless… didnt they thought that someone would skip doing (most) season content until getting close to end game?

Don’t feel bad, I did the same thing.

Also be aware that you need to pick up 1,000 helltide cinders in wt3 for the seasonal journey. I went to wt4 at level 58 and had to go back to wt3 to do that objective lol.

There is some confusion regarding this, here is another post where you might find the information you’re looking for.

The confusion comes from T1/2 as there are only a few burrows (if not only 1) that has the Varshan invocation room compared to T3/4 where there is one in all of them.

This isn’t true.

It’s random whether or not a tunnel has the secret room. There are tunnels with no room in wt3 and 4.

talking about this… something is wrong with one of my objectives.
the one to open a stash in helltide isnt working. opened a lot of it and didnt get the checkmark…

Did you open the 250 cinder mystery chest? That’s the one it wants you to open.

In the other post I provided I was told it’s very frequent in a specific one.
I still have to go and try but what you’re saying makes sense, it definitely could be random.

Hmm. I’m not sure about that one, it gave me credit when I opened it. If it keeps giving you issues I’d just skip that one, you can skip two objectives in each ‘chapter’. Doesn’t help if you’re a completionist like me though, I have to do them all lol.

I have seen it pop up more in devious-branded tunnels, but I think that might have more to do with confirmation bias than anything else. It took me 3 tries to find a secret door yesterday, thankfully tunnels are quick.

uh… guess I was “lucky”. To be honest I have not done a lot of them.

I don’t think it’s like, a low chance for there to be a room, I think it’s just random if the generator pulls that tile from the pile or not and since tunnels are short, there’s only so many tiles for it to choose from. I’d lay odds it’s like a 50/50 chance or even closer to 75, because people would be very annoyed if they had to do dozens of tunnels to find the room.

Just did the T2 Varshan.
Found him first try in the tunnel directly east from Kyovashad.

Nice!

He’s a little bit more difficult on wt3 but not by much. I kind of wish they had made him harder lol.

I noticed.on my map that some malignant tunnels have a gold dot on them.

Kind of like the capstone boss dungeons do on the map.

Maybe that’s the clue?

I found the Nightmare Echo of Varshan this way going to one of those. It was in the swamp area in the SE area of the world.

He was level 60 and he was very hard. I’m only level 63 though and my gear is still pretty weak.
