Asmongold is just mad because Rhykker got an invite to Blizzard and Asmon didn’t.
He’s mostly a WoW junkie. He always goes back to WoW. He barely plays any other games for more than a couple days. You don’t listen to guys like that. His feedback on anything other than WoW is just hot takes and gaslighting.

Of course. But your character should still be fun to play with regardless. My character should already feel decently powerful, and then when I put in the time building everything then they become ultra powerful. Power fantasy is the name of the game when it comes to ARPGs and MMOs. I should feel powerful. I should have fun.
Also, we fight BOTS in PvE. It will never make sense to me to make nerfs in PvE games where we are fighting bots. If someone is able to defeat bosses with ease because of how powerful their class is, as well as how good their loot is, how is that a problem? Even if Necro was braindead back in the Beta, how is that a problem? Please legitimately explain it to me because I just don’t see how it’s a problem.

i don’t know what game you played but even with like only the basic attack you are doing a lot of damage to mobs… you can kill mobs in like 2 or 3 hits on world tier 2 as the sorcerer without any abilities, just your starting attack. you feel plenty powerful starting out.
He can be entertaining but he seems to try and equate fun with being equal to getting gear really fast. As if it’s not fun to work towards something. Some people find that fulfilling in a game.
Like he just keeps using subjective terms like “fun” in place of actual arguments. As if his statements mean something when they’re completely rooted in a subjective basis. Like his idea of fun is a universal constant one can extrapolate data from on games lol

he doesn’t even play classic wow. he just played a tiny bit recently because of the hardcore bandwagon. i actually love classic wow. check it out if you haven’t.
Then you clearly don’t understand the appeal of having challenges in games. The thing is, the game is actually very easy once you understand how to gear up. This game have the power fantasy when you find what you need. You don’t want things handed to you on a silver platter. The game would be over in a week and there would be no reason to play.
Thats not to say that all nerfs are good. Sometime the nerf hammer is too hard and they kill build diversity, making something that was viable endgame not so viable anymore.
Just like how I will never understand the people who allow their decisions to be shaped and influenced by people who openly and unashemedly refer to themselves as paid “influencers”. It’s like the incel gamer neckbeard version of Fox News.
I agree HC will be the best thing that has ever happened to that game, will pump fresh money into it. As for retail they need to shut it down and delete it and make a new mmo.

Whoever thinks asmon is serious and not playing an obvious character for entertaining purposes is really naive and delusional. This shouldn’t be a revelation, he built his character for years, he is entertainer not a gaming god with opinions everyone would follow. Like cmon we ain’t 10 it’s obvious 90% of what he says and do is for the sole purpose of entertainment and his personal growth as a streamer

Part of it is a character, part of it is truly him.
Obviously, you have to base the character on yourself after all otherwise it would look fake. My point was don’t take a streamer seriously. Watch it, enjoy it but don’t treat em like they some elite with 200+ IQ and like every word they say is a biblical prophecy
People who watch others playing videogames and pay for it are the scum below the waters and could not play games properly even if their lives depended upon it. Just look at his chat. Never ending aoe meme spam like the chorus of the apocalypse. You think they lead the world and economics? HELL NO!

Asmongold is a pill, but a successful, rich pill. He also represents a style of media that hasn’t yet gone mainstream but I’m certain will someday.
If you think about those opinion/editorial shows on FoxNews, CNN, MSNBC, etc… anyone with half a functioning brain knows those hosts are full of sh-- but a large audience love watching them anyways. Now imagine if those shows allowed the audience to interact with the host and interact with other audience members and what do you think would happen? They would become even more popular, more profitable.
Those opinions + interaction are where Streamers are at today. Eventually the big media corporations are going to see how much better their profit margins will be with this kind of format and absolutely mimic it.
