D3 had pets bruh. Hate to pop your bubble that keeps reality at bay.
Some people want humble abodes and more… pets are the least of it lol.
And Diablo 2 had Mercs.
D2 > D3
MERC > PETS
A Pokemon follower? I dunno man, I’d rock the hell out of a little Charizard following me around, belching little puffs of fire every now and then, collecting all my gold and making cute noises during it’s idle animation.
I’d probably pay like $500 for that. I bet I’m not the only one.
You’re right, though. Blizzard shouldn’t want to make that money.
I don’t even need it to attack… just pick loot up for me.
i dont like pets either but if you tell me it’ll collect gold and stuffs for me i’m down
Would you like for me to send you a wolf to hang out with you?
Adding pets would be terrific. Making the Druid companions a viable build path is sorely needed.
and I absolutely loved they spit in the face of people that criticized it and created Whimsyshire
Pets and wings can’t come soon enough. The more colorful and whimsical the better.
Pets that picked up gold for me was a huge feature of Diablo 3, and definitely one I miss in Diablo 4. Collecting them was also a huge driver for my completing every single season; there’s a lot less motivation to do that now with current season rewards. I know I’m not alone in that respect.
I’m sorry you don’t like pets, but there are a lot ways to address your concerns that aren’t simply “don’t bring back a very popular feature.” You could instead ask for other players’ pets to be hidden from view, or that they only implement pets that fit with the aesthetic of the game. No one is complaining about druid’s combat pets as immersion breaking or saying they look like picachus, so I don’t know why the base assumption is that implementing vanity pets would inherently mean there would be tons of colourful neon fantasy critters bouncing around suddenly.
I want them to add pets. I will pay for them even. Many people will pay for them and the money will win.
Im fine with a merc. Just make sure they auto pickup gold and materials. Like how the first major QoL change in D3 with the Alter of Rites giving us the auto pick for EVERYTHING.
What makes you think they have to be standard pets like IRL? A large chunk of the D3 pets are demons and such. Like lilith’s evil carnivorous rose, Bones the skeleton demon dog, etc.
I want my teddy bear pet from d3. I would also like him to pick up filtered loot, and carry me stash and wardrobe.
I have the Wolf pup but that is not the same as having companions/minions. My druid has the vine right now for poison reasons but it is not as satisfying as most other options.
I think it would be possible to do pets in a tasteful way, respecting the atmosphere of the original Diablo.
Such as a mangy looking dog for example.
Pets aren’t exactly a feature that I would be looking forward to, but I would welcome it as an addition.
By all means a companion or henchman would be pretty cool. Perhaps they could include the functionality of prior pets into them? Or vice versa, by having pets combat enabled?
Id like to have the lil Butcher i got from the Darkening of Tristram event follow me around.
You said it. The tedium of running around collecting gold is one of my biggest gripes about the game. And I really don’t have any motivation to participate in the season because the rewards on offer are just not enticing. Plus the obvious, that the game is just a slow, grindy mess overall of course.
