Hello everyone, I had the opportunity to experience the Diablo 4 beta version on both PC and PlayStation, and it looks fantastic. First of all, congratulations to everyone who worked on it. My main question is that I’m playing the game with the same Battle.net account on both PC and PlayStation, but I’m not allowed to play at the same time. What I mean by playing at the same time is my brother playing the game as well, with different characters on different devices, all under the same account. Do I have to buy both PC and PlayStation versions separately and create different accounts? This seems absurd to me. I already have an account that I’ve been using for years, do I have to create a new account just to be able to play? Isn’t there a solution for this? Thank you.
I don’t think you’d be able to log onto 2 devices at the same time.
Only one person may use a Battlenet account. You can’t log in to the account on multiple devices at the same time.
Your brother needs his own Battlenet account and his own copy of the game on each Device he wants to play it on.

As far as I understand two people can only use the same version of Diablo IV if they’re playing couch-coop from the same PS5. That’s because the PS5 gives the license to all PSN accounts on the system with game sharing.
In the case you’re describing you would have to buy Diablo IV on both PC and PS5. They’re different platforms and you don’t get the game on both platforms just because you own the PC version.
When have you ever been able to buy a game on one platform and play it on two separate devices…
You’ll need two battle.net accounts, and two copies of the game. The PC Version and the PS5 version.
And I believe a PS subscription to play the game on PS4/5.
I am guessing that unlike the beta. I can’t just by it on PC and play on ps4 with the same account?(not at same time but just to continue with the same character on console?
Diablo 4 has Cross Progress and Cross Play.
You can buy D4 for your PC and buy the console version your console (two purchases). Link your Console to your Bnet account*, and play the same exact chars and keep your progress between the two devices. You can also play on your PC with someone else who is on Console - on their own copy of the game on their own Bnet account. So it does not matter the platform, you can play with your friends and family.
Note: Console-to-Bnet linking and unlinking can have a 360 day cooldown so be very careful setting that up. Despite the name, this is actually helpful for learning more about linking Bnet to consoles. Blizzard Support - Cannot Link My Third Party Platform and Battle.net Accounts
Just to clarify:
My wife and I play Diablo 4 on our PC’s. If we want to play couch coop together, we need to buy 2 copies of D4 for console?
Or in our situation, I only need to buy a copy of D4 for console, and then we can bring in anybody else’s account to play couch coop. The requirement is simply a console version exists in general and not per-user?
You don’t need 2 copies of Diablo on Ps5. You just need her to have her own battle.net account on her own profile on the ps5 so that it’s not counting YOU as logging into the same account from your ps5 and pc at the same time.
Make her own profile on ps5, then have her create her own Battle.net account. Link her ps5 username to her Battle.net account and she will be good to go as long as you’ve purchased 1 copy on ps5 you can both use that 1 copy. Just not on the same account
I apologize, but I am antique and have never played consoles. I can’t actually answer your question.
I know you need to have a copy on each platform you want to play on. I don’t know if one copy on console will let both use their Bnet accounts for couch coop.
I defer to @Keystones or anyone else who knows Consoles better.
Ya I have a copy for both PC, and ps5. I played server slam with my wife while she played on ps5. Just had to make her own Battle.net account. But I can jump on my own account on ps5 whenever I want only had to buy 1 copy
So on full release if I have a license for the pc and for the console we can play coop as long as she has created her own battle.net account?
Yes if you bought a copy on PC, and bought a copy on ps5 you can both play together.
But if you bought early access on one, but only standard edition on the other you will have to wait until full release to be able to play together, unless you upgrade.
Just make sure she has her own PSN gamer tag, as well as her own battlenet account. Then go on Battle.net and make her link her psn account under connections. Then you will be good to go
The only thing you need to take into consideration is that only the account which bought the copy on the PS5 can play it. That is, if you buy it on your account, in order for her to play it on the console, you’ll have to be logged in too.
Unfortunately, there’s a 365 day waiting period if you try to unlink accounts on the console. For instance, lets say you wanted trophies on your PS5 account, but wanted to play on the PC, but a friend, relative, etc. was over, and wanted to also play, but didn’t own the console version themself, but had a Diablo 4 account, you can’t just switch it over to them and back over to you.
That’s not true. I bought the game on my account on ps5, and bought a copy on PC. I play on PC, and my wife played on her account on PS5 which wasn’t used to buy the game.
As long as the other persons account is a profile on the console it was purchased on they can play
No, she has a profile. I’m talking about a person without a console profile. You can’t just unlink and link the console profile willy nilly.
Thanks, this exactly how I currently have it setup. I bought the deluxe on the ps5 with my battle.net. She created her own battle.net account and linked it to her own ps5 account. I will by another deluxe for the pc on my battle.net. That way I can either play couch coop with her or play regular coop with her with me on pc and her on ps5. I wanted the Pc addition so I can play on the go with my laptop.
Xbox does this a lot. You buy the game once on either Xbox or pc through the ms store/Xbox app and you get it on both. Cross saves also so you can pick up where you left off when you switch platforms.
Good day,
So my girlfriend is having issues with her computer and can use mine for two weeks. This means that I will sadly not be able to join the 4 day-early access on pc. Luckily we have a ps5, but if I read this correctly, for the nearly 100 euro’s paid for a game, I don’t get the service to just link my account to ps5 and play anyway?
I would understand that only 1 can play at the time, but that you need to link 2 copies of the same game to your account, that would be utter BS
