"Player trading is unavailable while we address a duplication exploit."

…can someone explain why this is happening every season? Why is Blizzard incapable of issuing a permanent fix for this?

They disabled trading again?

Did they just disable it again or something? Honestly I’m shocked people even trade in this game with the nonexistent economy and stuff.

But I have heard of insanely rampant duping again this season. This sounds like it’s gonna be a persistent problem like it was for New World lol.

They won’t ban trading completely because they want the RMT scumbags to do their thing so they can ban them after a fair while. This forces them to keep buying copies of the game making Blizz a profit. It’s not financially in their best interest to ban them immediately or stop trading which would effectively cease all RMT activities.

Probably duping Durial materials again. Which they could fix by making one of the two materials account bound.

this is one of the most smoothbrain conspiracy theories I’ve read in a while.

This thread gives me an inexplicable feeling of deja vu.

Just get rid of trading already.

Yes, mass duping has been going on since the season started (and before really).

You must be new to gaming at Blizzard. Because Blizzard has made a lot of money off bot ban waves over the years.

They should double down and require platinum purchases before trading!

Yea knew about that but its been since launch, surprised they are stopping trading now, damage is already done

They don’t really have the capability to fix it. Trust me, they simply lack the necessary coding skills to fix this. The only solution is to ban trading or heavily limit it.

We saw this happen to D3.

Besides, they are not strongly motivated to do so either. RMT players make their data look better. After a certain threshold, there will be a big loss of true players when RMT becomes dominant. They won’t action until that threshold is reached.

Again, we saw this happen to D3.

They have? How much do you reckon those sales contribute to the bottom line, eh?

Few thousand copies purchased on third party sites using keys that were fraudulently purchased long ago that Blizzard won’t see any new revenue from is really gonna keep them in the black, you reckon?

People “trade” in this game for 1 reason: To buy Duriel mats for real money from one of the many websites selling them.

That’s quite literally the only reason.

They’ve done it in every Diablo I’ve played in (all of them) and their other games as well. Bot bans usually coincide with sales slumps. But, they’re clearly raking it in with all the Duriel mat sales, or they’d do something about it.

Uhh… Because criminals always find a way around? Why can’t we stop people from killing other people? Why can’t we stop people from carjacking? Why can’t we stop people from stealing? It’s the same old story…

It’s pointless unless they fix snapshotting too, which they already said they will probably not do this season. So one exploit begets another. Leaderboards are ruined on release. Blizzard just can’t get anything right these days. Its really hard to watch them drop the ball over and over and over again and pretend that everything is ok behind the scenes.

again, this is a really dumb conspiracy theory and sales for accounts banned for RMT are a freaking rounding error rofl
