So when/if ever can we expect to get pit leaderboards??? I get it we have the stupid gauntlet leaderboards but no one actually cares about that and its not the same. Diablo 3 had leaderboards for greater rifts and I loved logging in and checking them to see what builds/variations of builds people were running and that would be really cool if could do the same in diablo 4.
Like giving the pit leaderboards is such an easy W for the game I don’t understand why blizz still trying to force the gauntlet on us for leaderboards when I’ve never seen one person/post claiming people actually enjoy the gauntlet or that leaderboard system.
Also side note but why is the answer to armory “more info soon” it’s been over a year and at least around 6 months since blizz has said they are coming. Should have been with the expac now yesterday campfire chat says soon so I assume that means in blizz terms maybe next 6 months?

I’m not really against it as such but I just don’t see how it would work. The pit has too many variables to make for a good leaderboard. You get a bad layout with a bad set of mobs and it can slow you way down.
But what exactly would the metrics be? Pit levels and speed?

I played D3 for about a week and stopped. But this isn’t D3 so how do you see it working in D4?

But that still really doesn’t answer anything. I don’t feel the pit is a good place for a leaderboard. I feel if they do a leaderboard it should be something new built around it having a leaderboard and not just attaching it to the pit because an old game did it.
Yeah I agree something like diablo 3 (class based) leaderboards could be introduced, gauntlet was fine but no idea why it had lb earlier than pits.
Sure add it for those who enjoy playing for a top spot on the leader board… For me it will just be something else to forget is in the game.
Yes there is RNG involved, but given a large enough sample size, pit leaderboards can show what classes and builds are performing at what level and how they stack up relative to each other.
For the ultra-competitive it gives them something to strive for, for the data nerds it gives them something to analyze.
It may not be a 100% accurate representation of player skill, but it seems to have at least some value and no real downside that I currently see.
EDIT: I guarantee you data nerds inside Blizzard have some insane BigData tools running over all pit data and use it extensively for class balance analyses.
In EVERY GAME leaderboards are just complaint fuel.
A Leaderboard will only consist of people chasing after the same Builds that are the S Tier builds.
It will all come down to who got better Master Working and Tempering.
It all comes down to RNG. Not player skill.
That’s why they don’t add Leaderboards.
Player skill means nothing when you hustle gear and get lucky at the Blacksmith.
Umm… When people stop breaking the game with quadrillion damage bugs, that’s when they can add leaderboards
lol why do so many people take such zero-sum approach? perfect doesn’t have to be the enemy of the good. Things can have benefit without being perfect. or are “we” at large, now incapable of considering information and the sources, and methods of assembly and drawing our own conclusions?
What is the purpose of a Pit leader board dominated by 24/7 streamers and RMT players? How it serve the purpose of the rest of players whose name will never appear there? You have forgotten in Gauntlet players hide their profile from your view? Even Blizzard force the profile to appear on leader board, the players can swap their gear the last minute they completed the Pit to troll you.
