I am playing a DOK no snapshot build. Tried the snapshot but abandoned it. Too quirky and seems out of place for a Spin to Win type of build. And not guilt free, feels like taking advantage of a game bug mechanic.
I have maxed out almost everything that RNG and available gold will allow, a couple of items still at MW 11 but I got all the meta gear and aspects. But I can’t finish a pit 85. I am not dying and I am killing things; just that my DPS is just not high enough I have no hope of killing fast enough to beat the clock. The boss is easy enough but still takes me a good 5+ minutes. I got another 30 paragons to go before 300 but those won’t enough for me to crest the hill. I even switched back to using snapshots but that was a marginal improvement on time.
What are the pit clearing expectations by the Devs? I would like to think that any class’ build that has gear MW to 12 and paragons to 300 that’s quasi meta should be able to do pit 100 and get their glyphs leveled to 100. Surpassing 100 should be source of aspirations and inspirations, but getting to 100 should be possible for casual players right?
It’s this feeling of wanting to play but waiting for the wind to fill my sails…

You are going to get a wide range of responses to this, but I want you to know that you arent wrong or alone. Before any of the trolls show up
hopefully the midseason patch gives the non SB classes some love.

Oh I am sure the trolls will show up. if they can’t offer constructive comments or share their own lack of success, that’s on them as obviously they’re feeling the same frustrations, in game or in personal life. They can rant as they like, waving the half empty bottle of Troll juice and wiping the goat fur off their lips, as long as they rant without resorting to schoolyard English.
PS I am not holding out any expectations that the midseason patch will help, but I will give it the benefit of the doubt.

My Victimize Dance of Knives build is at Pit 90 with solid gear that I’ve remastered to the best of my ability over the weekend. I’m not sure how the mid-season patch will affect my Pit pushing, but so far, seems like three buffs for my build: the Neo rune, Dance of Knives base damage, and Victimize (which is the biggest buff for me). It looks like the Momentum version is getting buffed too.
Pit 100 is no longer the standard, as I suspected the 70% glyph upgrade chance at Pit 100 was an oversight. Technically, Pit 109/110 should now be the benchmark for clears across all classes and builds, but I doubt the mid-season patch will push us to that level just yet.
I have a question. There is a lvl 150 pit achievement, so are builds generally expected to hit that lvl of pit in maxed gear? Like are they trying to make all class builds balanced around that?
How often do build’s hit that lvl of pit? haha
There were Rogue builds that could achieve that back in Seasons 4 and 5. Off the top of my head, I remember Penetrating Shot and Rapid Fire builds. Since then, Blizzard has made the Pits increasingly harder. This season, as you know, the only class that can beat it is the OP one.
Pit 150? Before this season, the devs never expected any class to get to 100 let alone 150. That was the penultimate achievement with them expecting pit 100 to be achievable for the just talented few, hence the changes to the game mechanics for this season.
But a couple of seasons of power creep (looking at you, Barbs) meant the pit 150 wall would be breached. Season 4 got rapid fire and penshot easily yeeting 120-130 out the window. And last season heartseeker and andariel did it too. Ergo to bring it back down to players’ no hope in hell, we got season 6’s stat squish so that 100 will again be the holy grail.
But season 6 was also the SB debut and thanks to them, 150 got smashed and their grandma. And due to the suits’ badgering, Devs were unable to bring the SB back into the realm of the mundane they put all the other classes in. So for non-SB it’s smh time and let the neo barbs aka SB take over D4 to the sounds of kaching.
Well I’ve done all I could and my good is not enuff for pit 100, so I think I’m gonna ramp down my D4 time and wait for the next season. There’s no other endgame content to poke a stick at anyways.
