My PC is randomly shutting down… Like it shuts down. Turn everything off. I have to turn it back on.
Sometimes on the login screen, sometimes on the character selection screen, sometimes during teleportation, and so on.
I’ve already monitored the temperatures, I’ve updated the drivers, I’ve already put the graphics on Low… None of that solves it.
Anyone else with this problem?
Blizzard, are you aware that this problem exists?
How can I have an answer for this?
Faulty hardware my dude. Time to learn how computers work and start troubleshooting. Your PC shutting down hard has nothing to do with the game, for one simple reason, healthy computer MUST handle everything otherwise it’s faulty.
lots of people are getting crashes. everybody who is checks their pc. nothing wrong with it. updated drivers. no faulty hardware. no overheating. other games run fine.
lots of people who have been getting constant crashes spending hours troubleshooting.
I’ll be honest I had to upgrade from 16 gigs of Ram to 32. The game progressively uses more and more as I play. Hitting peaks of 18 gigs of RAM! Locked my computer up multiple times to the point where I was blue screening. Replaced my RAM and all is fixed.
Hahaha it pains to defend a lost cause, doesn’t it?
Dude get back to reality, OP here talks about his PC shutting down power physically due to faulty hardware, for example failing power supply or graphics card, and you spew out a post about “people getting crashes” lol
thanks for the info, good to know, i have 16gb only but i have a huge ~100gb pagefile for the warcraft 3 which is known to use ~70gb of ram in some problematic maps, guess that’s why i haven’t crashed in d4 yet even once (among with 16gb vram gpu),
total ram+pagefile usage i saw from d4 yet was 19gb, ~4.5gb was ram, rest was pagefile, makes sense because i also have lots of background tasks so ram is full
Thanks for the suggestions.
I definitely will not change any part of my PC.
AND
I’m guessing it’s something from Diablo 4 that isn’t optimized, because, as I said earlier, I play a lot of other games, with different settings, and I’ve never had this problem.
I’d like if someone at Blizzard reads this and would say, “Okay, we’re aware” or “The problem is your PC.”
Honestly, I scoured the internet and saw several people with this problem as well. Nobody managed to fix it.
Don’t listen to the usual freaks who give their ego a boost without having a idea of what they’re talking about.
Yes, the game has various problems, including various instabilities that are accentuated by setting it to maximum.
Think that many guys, after playing the first time could not enter the a 2 time in the game, because after saving the settings on the next restart it crashes on loading.
The only solution was to delete the configuration file from the documents, so the game make again the 1 step, and people can set up again the game…
So no hardware problem, just software…
I’m having similar issues. I had no problem in the server slam or beta but recently I have experienced several spontaneous reboots. The game locks up for a second or 2 then the computer restarts automatically. My temps seem fine. I’ve also been logging the power draw on my PSU and my PC doesn’t appear to be tripping over voltage protection. I ONLY ever experience this issue playing D4.
I am having the same issues and have a $5000 PC with a 34in OLED monitor. Troubleshot everything for hours. Tried various fixes people mentioned for the game. Nothing has worked. Grow up.
I’ve tried some suggestions, graphics at minimum, fps cap at 60, chroma effects disabled.
Nothing solves.
Posting because I still dream of having an answer that will save me.
Wrong. Nothing to troubleshoot. I’m experiencing the same thing. No event in the event viewer to indicate what’s happening. No logs. My cpu temp is a steady 42C and my gpu 55C so it’s not overheating. All my drivers are up to date. I’ve never EVER experienced this with any other game, even playing for hours on max settings.
So your computer is shutting down completely but you saying there is nothing wrong with it and nothing to troubleshoot? That’s great. Good luck gaming with turned off computer.
Pinatra, since this appears to be a laptop, can you tell us what the temperature maximum value is reading for the CPU, GPU, and if available PCH/ambient sensor as shown in either Open Hardware Monitor or Hardware Monitor 64? What you’re describing is a thermally induced shutdown to protect the hardware. I know you said you have monitored temperatures, but it would help to know what they actually read from the software.
The vendor make and model number of the laptop would be very useful as well as it would allow us to search for any issues that may be known for that model or series.
Disable "DisableChromaEffects " setting from LocalsPrefs in the documents folder
Scan and repair the game file
Move the game in another hdd
Disable antivirus
Tell to us if some one of that fix, help.
I’m new so i can’t continue to post , but only modify my previous reply, so i add all solution i find in these post.
I have multiple pc, diablo IV is on 5 of them.
On 2 of them the game work with no issues, on the other 3 i get problem until today i start to investigate , and now all appear fixed.
-On 1 i just disable chroma setting.
-On another all fixed with a scan and repair of battlenet.
-On the third the scan fix for a couple of run, so i move the game in another hard disk and now all work with no issues.
I hope 1 of solution here and from my other post can help some of u.
