Orbiting twisting blades (Bladedancer's) are bugged and no longer reduce cooldowns

Posting this here as well so it gets more traction. The reason Twisting Blades feels so off is that, even though the REDUCTION nerf is working as intended like some people are saying, Bladedancer’s Aspect no longer reduces cooldown as well like it used to. This means you can no longer use twisting blades in your death trap for CD reduction and is why the build feels so awkward to play now.

Ive had it not even reduce the CDs upon the blade returning to me in flight.

There’s basically zero CD reduction now, which means you’re right, but also there’s more to it. I’ve had 2-3 blades return through massive packs and CD doesn’t budge at all. It’s a useless perk now.

That’s just how intense the nerf was. You need to hit a full 20 enemies every time for it to feel relevant at all now - which is made even worse by the fact it needs to be a clean pass as they return to you, rather than in the extra time that they’re orbiting around you like you could do before.

I believe this 300 mb patch they just dropped with zero patch notes may have fixed it. It’s still bad but at least I think I can see the cooldown working as they intended to nerf.

Or just don’t use the meta build with death trap and it won’t bother you at all. I’m having no issues with 300k crits and still clearing packs of mobs on WT4.

Link to your build? Always interested in seeing new ways to play.

yes, you can use other builds, but it doesn’t change the fact that the main way people play and enjoy rogue is currently bugged

It was hot fixed. Congrats you now feel the pain of the nerf bat. Adapt like the rest of the classes that got major nerfs have.

The problem isnt a nerf, coulda been cool with that. They broke it. The playstyle doesnt FEEL good anymore. They could have nerfed the dmg by 20-30% and it would have still felt good to play.

They did the same to fury gen for us we worked around it. You are going to have to adapt your playstyle and shuffle around items. They did the same to us with whirlwind all they had to do was nerf ghors gloves not destroy shouts in general. We can all cry about this but in the long run blizzard is going to do what blizzard is going to do and we can’t change that.

The problem isnt resource management. Rogue is squishy and the movement (facilitated by cool down reduction) is what made the playstyle viable as a melee. Add to that the huge decrease in damage and its not playable. Its not a matter of gear as the amount of CDR on items cant make up for it.

Also this wasnt a nerf, its a bug. The nerf was supposed to be .25s per hit (max 3s) CDR to .1s per hit (max 2s). The issue is that its not procing on hit as frequently as it should (100%) or its only procing on the first enemy hit.

Sure the nerf would hurt however i still feel that may be “ok” or at least be able to provide the playstyle if played properly. Essentially raising the skill ceiling.

Also yes if enough people complain they change it or tend to work faster. Been playing the companies games since 2008. The only thing they dont do quickly is add things not already in their game despite widespread want.

I guess do what the rest of us have done and use another ability if its so terrible now. Be glad it was just a nerf to one skill and not all your builds like the shout nerf was.

nah the build is non functional and broken. The time and cost of a respec, finding all new gear with the stats I need, an entire new set of legendary aspects, and the gold cost of upgrading and enchanting it all at level 75. No thanks.

This is the same for every skill that gets nerfed. Adapt like the rest of us did.

“Like the rest of us”. Bro no, nobody wants to and we dont care that you think we should. We want it to not be broke, i dont think you fundamentally understand the difference between a nerf and a bug.

the CD-reduction is okay if it would work

Right back at you. Lol i dont think you fundamentally understand that you are going to get nerfed. Deal with it its going to happen adapt. These posts are pointless blizzard is going to do what they are going to do. Buckle up for the future nerfs that are coming.

Not sure what you’re getting at, the hotfix so that the initial nerf is applied properly is one thing which we could play around, but people are saying it is a bug not because they are upset with the nerf but because it literally is bugged (behavior change was NOT mentioned in either the hotfix or the initial patch notes), and does not work as it did before. If you’re saying the same thing happened with Barbarian, that an ability was changed to no longer work as it did previously with no mention of this change occurring and that we should just cope because it happened to you, then I hope you can see that Blizzard’s communication is even more of a problem than their balancing and it is something which needs to be resolved.

First time around these parts?
