Personaly i hate the game in the state it is NOW , this patch adresses many issues with the game and its a huge step in the right direction . However there are 2 things that i still dont like about it , and i think some of you whould agree
Nr 1 .
Stat locking items for classes . What i mean by that is that a barb can only find str. on items , a wizzard can only find int. , a rogue can only find dex … you get the idea… Itemisation should be random and every class should be able to find gear for all classes . Makes the grind more fun when your hunting for a item , insted of just searching for it…Becouse at the end of the day , there is a 100% chance that that item will drop whit the desired stat and stat sucks.
Nr 2.
Limiting trade to everything except uber uniques and crafted items , witch btw will be the most valuable chase items in the game . (Look at Diablo 2 runewords) , and before anyone says anything about selling on third party sites so on and so forth , you think the allowed tradeable items whont be there??? Why not just let trade be 100% alowed with everything , its not like you are limiting the bots and ‘‘farmers’’ theres gonna be full of them anyhow. By doing this your are just limiting or fun experience whit no real reason , becose the outocome is the same in both situations.
The rest of the patch notes are a good step up , these two points however still bug me allot.
Im not a fan of smart loot but game practically already had it. Game has enough RMT its kinda nice they kept uncommon uniques out of the mix. Id still prefer if they moved boss mats to the material tab and made them BoP.
despite the fact that many people talk about rmt, in my opinion, for 99% of players it is SSF type game.
There is no AH and trust me you won’t like trading via discord and it’s not like gold have a lot of real value here.
Yeah in ideal world we want 2 leagues SSF based and with open trading(and w/o loot 2.0 aka smart loot) with Gold AH or smthing like that, but probably it will never happen cuz 99% of D3 fanboys base think that AH means p2w, which is (spopiler) absolutly not true.
Nr.1 - You still can get all stat if you looking for Int for Barb. By removing none class stat from items make less grind. And it also reduce the cost of re-roll your items as less affix.
Nr.2 - Allow Uber trading players will just buy Uber from black market and those who grind Duriel material look dumb.
D4 isn’t built like that. Gear doesn’t have stat requirements, so there’s no reason to dip into other stats. It’s going to have that affixes of D3 and crafting of Last Epoch.
yeah people buy some stuff in D2 via real money, same as in any games.
But it never affect me at all.
Tbh even if items are untradeble people are tend to buy different services such as power leveling, uber bosses, achievemnts and etc. So trading restriction is not a way to deal with rmt
But it never affects the average player, it’s an absolutely overblown problem.
and tbf you can just lock trades via auction only and just restrict gold transfers from player to player. That’s basically all - it will allow you to make a proper AH + it will also hurt rmt sites a lot.
Ah would just lead to abysmal drop rates because they would want people to interact with it. Most dont want to play a trade simulator.
Limiting trade doesnt remove RMT services to what you are correct but it does put up barriers and significantly reduces cheating. As long as all the chat functions end up like D2/D2R it will be fine but we dont need to see anymore messages to goto x.c om to buy the latest D4 items it will be a sad day.
Yes and no. atm the stats are too randomised that filtering though them is too time consuming. D4 is an ACTION RPG game, not RPG ACTION game which means ACTION should be higher or on par with the Role Playing elements. Atm, the action component is 20-40% of the time and inventory management is 60-80% of the time.
This lead to 2 behaviours:
exhausting certain players faster, especially deny players with limited time of action thus overal interest in the game
completely ignore drops and sources gears from target farming or trading channels aka RMT
I am not fond of complete random drops nor smart loot, since I min max from efficiency pov in seconds and D3 smart loot is boring. The best solution is actually loot filter. It gives utmost freedom of personalized looting style. The current decision is at the cost of player overall enjoyment, one way or another.
Smart enchanting should be the way though, we arent college age anymore and doesnt have the time to en mass forgotten souls from hell tides. I could spend 10,000 FS in D3 to roll/perfect roll a single stat, but not anymore in D4. The enchanting mat sink is too obvious and more often than not, we settle for undesired outcomes.
personally it’s the opposite , i dislike this change because in my opinion unique and legendary shouldn’t be tradeable , and uber mat aswell.
and everyone should pay the mat fee to enter duriel instance.
i definitely don’t want to see a rmt and bot wasteland like D2 / D2R was.
where every baal run , diablo run etc… were made by bots and every chat was spammed by bots to promote their RMT website
and where people were using “fg” to ruin the concept of reset in ladder
or the concept of hardcore itself as they don’t hunt their own loot in a loot farming game.
that being said, it’s a good thing uber unique aren’t tradeable.
some thing should only be earned through playing
and not “paying”.
earn your loot, don’t let others give it to you.
and if trade must be a thing : everything should be bound and only tradeable through a regulated anonymzed auction house for gold in my opinion.
so players cannot “buy” gold / items through someone else.
make it an option if you want, but i like smart loot personally, i only play 1 class per season.
i prefer to find less items but only useable by class’s one rather than tons of items and only 1/6 of them useable by my class.
same thing in the end but less inventory cleaning.
RMT is gonna be a thing and theres no way around it . Such is the trade option by concept . You either suport trade and deal whit RMT or have no trade at all and thats that.
I personaly dont mind RMT becouse i dont use it . Credit card warriors will allways be present as long as trade is a viable option , problem is this is a RPG game and no trade in games like these make bad design. Diablo 2 , Last Epoch , POE have there full tradeing system and they survive just fine whit RMT and third party sites added to the mix . What makes you think diablo 4 wont ??
As for the itemsisation issue , stat locking is a bad idea becouse it litteraly means less grind , less grind means less fun , less fun means less playtime . If people enjoy finding there OP item in 10 minutes than i rest my case… i like to grind so when that item finaly drops i have that WOW fealing. Or no one remembers diablo 3 lvl 1-70 in 20 minutes and fully geared and ready to roll in 3 hours. Fun Yeyyy…
I disagree with you. All diablos have always used items with the main status, most in D2 put all the points in the same status. About the drop… they didn’t say they reduced the chance of finding another class, I think I’m around 5% away from finding an Ax for my rogue. Regarding commerce, I still think it should not be open to uber items. About AH, it would be good if well implemented… sometimes a currency in addition to gold to limit someone from buying the entire set. If commerce is made much easier, there will be more boots and p2win will happen.
I am personally OK with those changes, Nr 1 means less headaches sifting through useless/suboptimal loot and Nr 2 means that there is still a reason to play the game, because once you have bought all the loot you can possibly want what’s the point of playing anymore? A game like this is all about finding that powerful loot and the journey leading to that moment.
the problem with 1 is Stash space. If they did the LE approach, im all in for dropping everything. But with this small space? it would clutter ur stash up like no tommorrow.
Oh, I don’t know about that. I only play Barbarians. Never played anything else. I don’t want to see any non-Barbarian gear. Waste of time. So, you see everyone has a different thing they like/dislike.
This is why we need a normal game mode where everyone can trade whatever they want. Have at it. And for everyone else we can choose a Solo-Self-Found game mode and now everyone is happy.
It’s a really crappy system from Diablo 3, it was bad in diablo 3, and it will be bad in diablo 4.
It basically bricks a lot of equipment you could have shared with your other characters, your friends, or even for trading purposes.
When I heard this during the dev campfire chat I wanted to vomit.
Diablo 3 is not a good game, and every move they make to push Diablo 4 to be more like Diablo 3 the less I want to play it.
On the other hand though this change makes the game less like Diablo 3 which has basically Zero Trading at all. Some items still being locked I can understand, but at the same time they have opened up a lot more than Diablo 3 ever did.
