I am doing all contents that drops ancestral items and many drops. 99,9% have trash affixes and absolutely ZERO aspect upgrade.
The aspects I use in my build are at the same level since first 2 season weeks.
This game is a complete disgrace at the moment.

But I’ll even admit… when compared to season 5, Season 6 definitely is harder when it comes to upgrading your stuff.
Heh…reminds when I played that miserable druid in S0…I think I was level 70 when I got the last aspect I needed…kind of a joke really.
I’m assuming that this is a carrot they are using for the next season instead of doing the decent thing and fixing it now.
We’ll find out in a few days if they’re really even fixing it with the PTR going live on Wed (??). My guess is it’ll still be bad just slightly less bad. It should be only ancestral quality aspects on ancestral gear. But they’ll probably do some “tier” garbage and make the best aspects only drop on 4GA items so they’ll still be impossible to max out.
Add it to the long list of things they did wrong.
Now 2 months of solid playing and not a single aspect upgrade for my equipped gear. Anyone in their right mind would move on to another game by now if they didn’t get a carrot every once in a while. Guess I’m crazzzzzzzzzy.
Well ancestrals are supposed to drop minimum bottom roll of the ancestral end of the aspect in s7. So my prediction is that 99% of them will actually drop at bottom roll. Similar to how uniques had a bad habit of dropping at or near bottom roll. Especially on multi ga. You can’t tell me that crap wasn’t weighted. If the range was 20-50 it was almost always exactly 20. That can’t be unless it was coded to be.
i have around 180 hours in game, paragon 273. played mostly necro and spiritborn but have a sorc and rogue as well. i checked my codex and the total of all aspects only 8.3% are max. This is ridiculous for seasonal content. Something they seem to be unable to comprehend.
They comprehend, they just don’t care about season 6. They moved on.
I gave up on maxing aspects ages ago. The only thing that was pulling me back into the game was the grind to 300 but I’ve given up on that for now, too. I have no urge to play D4 right now.
I’m not playing POE2, either. I will never play any game that has loot boxes and they exist in POE1. I have zero faith that they won’t keep selling them so I’ll stay away until they make some sort of statement about not supporting gambling in their game.
I’m enjoying another playthrough of Grim Dawn, though, and looking forward to the new expansion. It’s a great game.
i do not know how long it is since i have found an upgrade, but i can say i agree with the main point you are making here i think. i started on season 6 server with the SB, got to about 220 paragon and went back to eternal. i was at about 120 on eternal and am now about 240. i have played several of my classes on eternal.
i feel strong on eternal t2, i can do t3 but i feel weak. so i just stay on t2. i am focusing on one of my characters right now and trying to find 2 class specific pieces at 800+. all i ever get is 750. i am not even trying to get super duper mythics or whatever. and it still feels like all i am doing every day is logging in to fail finding either piece at 800. i am talking 800 with 1star or 0star. just not getting them.
just feels very unrewarding. the only good thing i guess is i am building up mats, gold, and obducite.
I am about 41 hours in on my spiritborn, which I gather for some of you is not a lot, but I still don’t have certain aspects at all.
Viscous or whatever, the really bugged one, I still have never seen. I probably have 5 aspects that rolled the very minimum but zero that rolled maximum aside from the few that are 1/1 or maybe 3/3. I have so many 14/20 though, there’s just no way it is truly random.
100% agree on the state of Ancestral drop rate and aspect quality in Season 6!
I just got into Torments late last night on PTR, So far I can say getting ancestral items does feel MUCH BETTER!!! Aspect quality and rarity remains to be seen.
It’s the fact that they expect us to go two more months like this that really pisses me off. They should have, and absolutely could have adjusted this in the Mid Season Update. And I still believe they should do it now, not 2 months from now. I think the community should put a huge amount of pressure on them so they do.
Adjusting the drop rates and/or ancestral aspect ranges this season would have been ideal. But for some reason they’ve just outright written this season off. It’s really bizarre decision for what’s supposed to be a live service game.
It accomplishes two things: stringing players along (which is a fundamental goal) with the thought that “next season will be better”, and allowing themselves to be lazy/procrastinate on any real fixes.
Laziness among this team and their decision making is completely rampant.

I don’t have 2 more months in me. I’m doing the spinning character game at the character select. This season is way too long. Nothing to do after a month in.
