What if you just took the PoE tree but made it able to be turned like a dial on multiple layers of the circle. Then you mix/match nodes, have open choice nodes to put glpyhs, and perhaps add in jumps but limit the number. What is a jump? You literally create a jump from one part of the board to another without having to turn the dial or travel to the other side of the tree.
There I just made trees brokenly epic. Also in specialization you create a build it your way specialization in a type of role. Healing/tanking/cc/or dps you build the nodes into that but once you make a choice your limited by the role. Part of specializing will be farming for unique stones/glyphs/powers to fill it out so you can realize your build type with an augment to elemental/physical/bleeding/poison/heal over time/big heals/mitigation/block/whatever damage type and a specialized effect/power for it:
Single target dps
AOE dps specialist
CC Zero dps
CC dps
Tank dps
Zero dps tank
Healer dps
Healer zero dps
and so on
And why would you do that? This community… smfh.

It’s an easy riddle. Just read Fahrenheit 451 and copy paste the only poem in the book. What are you telling me? That you don’t possess the reading comprehension to find the only poem in a children’s book?
I will literally admit I am a clown if any of you can do it within a month. Which you will not be able to do, not because it’s not possible, but because it’s impossible for you to do. People like me discover it on the first read, people like you could read the book for the rest of your lives and still not find the answer.

Because you give people the option to play the way they want but in doing so sacrifice something to gain more power in that role. It opens up a lot of new choices which is very cool.
It doesn’t even have to make much sense as long as it serves some function, even if just extremely niche.
I think you’re slightly confused on what makes it dynamic, but I like this direction.
For me, the layers need to be added to the skills themselves and not the character umbrella. The initial character skill progression in Diablo 4 is decent, but I think a large chunk of passives and skill modifier upgrades should be tied to the skill progression. This would also open up the doors to new builds, because you have deeper pathways that are locked behind using skills. If someone wants to play a Rapid Fire rogue, you know they want to be mobile and have quick bursts of damage. If someone wants to play a Blizzard sorc you know they’re looking to have heavy AoE damage and crowd control. It’s very easy to compliment playstyles, and you now have this window of “what items can make my skills the strongest” instead of “what skill makes my character the strongest”.
For example; I play Chain Lightning - the more I kill enemies using the skill it levels up, unlocking a deeper passive tree that changes how my character utilizes Chain Lightning. Slotting the skill point in Chain Lightning should then unlock it’s passive tree, opening up your build to things that compliment the Chain Lightning playstyle. This would work for all major character power categories - Damage, Defense, Utility, and Ultimate

That’s a cool idea too. Probably make paragon boards pointless but be a cool new direction and maybe paragon boards could be reimagined as a nexus of interaction between these ability trees to gain more power.
Also all these ad hominem attacks on others to belittle them and call their feedback, ideas, or anything worthless cause you think they’re too dumb aren’t helping the conversation.
