I’m assuming you have had a lot of threads like this but come on? At first the delayed ladders were promised for season 3 and then eventually we got the disaster of The gauntlet as the only ladder which was perhaps the games worst content ever.
At least diablo 3 had greater rift ladders but D4 has pretty much nothing.
An ARPG with season with no kinds of ladders makes the race in the beginning near non existant and makes everything you do just seem like a meaningless repetitive grind.
The game needs traditional EXP ladders for SSF and regular ones aswell as ladders for pits etc. SSF and grouping needs to be separated as ladders because of how overpowered grouping is in the game.
Its a huge misunderstanding that ladders are only for the people going for world first. It’s also a fun way to just let you know where you stand in the beggining of a new season or seeing messages like “Olof is the first player of the season to reach level 50 SSF”
Actually no. While some people complain about the fact we don’t have a ladder or leaderboard, none of them have expressed not coming back until they’re implemented. I can tell you from all the ultimatums people have made over the past nearly 2 years though, not a single one has gotten what they wanted. Either way, good luck to you, hope it all goes well.
Im indifferent too. The only players that care about those things are streamers and players with loads of free time on their hands. If the gauntlet had been played by a good portion of people, it would have never been taken out.
In my opinion, leaderboards shouldn’t exist without Standard SSF and Hardcore SSF modes. Leaderboards are necessary; otherwise, the game will die.
The main reason the Gauntlet was removed was due to a bug where players could play in a team, then leave after the run ended, and their score would still be added to the solo leaderboard. Blizzard couldn’t fix this issue. Additionally, the Gauntlet mobs were too weak, which is why many players didn’t enjoy it.
In my opinion, they should add leaderboards for Leveling, Pits, Infernal Hordes (with more tiers), and other aspects of the game. That would be a great addition. Without leaderboards, there’s no real purpose in playing beyond completing battle pass objectives.
They should also remove good drops from accounts that “play” 24/7, as those are most likely bots that cheat. Alternatively, they could limit the time frame for SSF to 12 hours per day.
In trade mode, they should introduce an auction house to help regulate the economy. The technology is available, but does Blizzard actually want to implement it?
Leaderboards should never return tbh.
And, as for threads about it, it is not a topic that seems to come up often.
Which might be because all the people who want leaderboards have left for greener pastures. Or maybe people just dont care much for leaderboards.
I don’t know. But I do know that these games are better off without leaderboards imo. They don’t do anything good for the game design, instead they break many players minds, making them singularly focused on a flawed measurements of progress as the truth of the game. Then spineless devs listen to those broken players, and you have a bad trend that ends up affecting the game design.
Eh, I have seen quite a few ultimatum threads about increasing the tempering limit. And then it happened. Multiple times afaik.
I saw people rage about it, then they were back the next week with another complaint, which if they made an ultimatum they clearly were the ones who caved. I could be wrong though, I don’t follow everyone on here and I forget names a lot.
