NO TRADING Please

There always will be RMT no matter what, i’ve played so many mmo games since i was 12 years old, im 36 years old and im still seeing the same thing everyday lol

Okay, so why do you need to find a head hunter? Is that a required item to play the game? Was Tyrael’s Might in D2 a required item to find?

What is the definition of bad drop rates?

I’m really trying to understand what the expectation for a drop rate should be here, because a lot of this thread is arguing about how trade will lower drop rates, but that general consensus is that D3 loot explosion was stupid and that it’s the example of “solo based drop rates”.

The fundamental question that I’m trying to get answered here is really:

The time expected to acquire a particular item, how trade impacts that (positively or negatively), and why that particular item needs to be found in that time period.

To make the build you’re wanting to make?

for example HH is REQUIRED for numerous builds (or the new belt of equal low drop chance)

Making builds is a huge part of these games

please try to find a Windforce in d2. In a year you can report how many you found. XD

Virtually every aarp the goal for most people is completi g their build, as that almost exclusively happens after you have beaten all content.

It gives the game its longevity, the ever seeking imporovements. (Going from normal to ancient uniques/sets is not the same)

Being able to get everything yourself quickly kills this.
Is why d3 is terrible.

Poe goes a tad too far the other direction.

D4 looks to be headed closer to d3 and tries to solve this with 30 different bad modifiers.

bad comparison.

tyreals might could help ur build.

HH(and the even better mageblood) literally define builds & work with any and every build as theres no downside to it.

d2 drop rate is not the same as d4 trading will probably feel very much optional and only really “needed” if your trying to get the most godly rares ever.

Don’t really think any item in D2 has a comparison to a HH or mageblood honestly, they’re build defining like you said.

Smart loot really makes this true

I’m all for no trade, if there’s not a searchable AH I don’t want to have to deal with people and them finding ways to cheat you or swap items.

I get there’s a whole group of people that don’t want to actually play the game, they just want to trade. The other side is with trade we are going to get spamming as well. You brought up bots but I can just imagine all the auction spam.

Trading is never going to be a small advantage in a game with trading.
Well, unless you add different rules to a trade and no-trade mode as Last Epoch is trying.

But on its own, trading makes for an immensely large advantage vs. not trading.

Like if you have 1000 equal items, with the same drop chance, you could trade for one another, the chance to get one of those items just increased 1000 times, with trading.

:100:

It is equally terrible when the same happens through trading.
High droprates and trading are basically the same thing.

Ignoring the question of trading for a moment, could we at least just not get bad itemization like that.
Would go a long way.

HH and Mageblood are amazing, would just like to not have to sell my soul to get one

They’re not something that any normal player will ever get or afford unless extremely lucky, only time i’ve ever had one was when someone who was done with the season threw it at me

wrong…
first off aspects cant be traded so everyone is on the same playing feild with or without trading in that aspect.( no pun intended )

second, the different between a rare with 4/5 perfect stats and 5/5 is Mostly for showing off and doesn’t provide That much more power

so trading only make you able to min max everything to the extream.
but its not like you can expect that to double your clear speed or anything, you’ll get a 10% power boost…

edit: if your talking about simply paying $$ for items then ya its a big advantage, but someone just farming + trading in a more legit way will not gain That much more power from trading.

How many builds can be made in POE? Are these builds the only builds that can be made?

I agree making builds is part of this genre, but why that specific build, what drove that decision specifically? Playstyle? Power? Streamer is doing it? Did you invent it yourself? Is this the only build that can be done? Does it prevent you from advancing further in the game or being able to acquire the drop in the first place?

That’s why these are terrible examples because the presumption that the drop drives the build is why D3 left a bad taste in people’s mouth and why the forum is constantly highlighting this issue. Especially when D4 was marketed to have more power come from the character and not the items. In a world where the items don’t define the build (like they said it would), then how much does this really matter?

Fun? like, it’s a game, it’s all about fun

PoE is a game about playing a build you don’t like to grind currency to play the build you actually want

Yours is the stupid comment. Arpg history is full of references to drops reduced due to trade and drops increased due to no trade. POE, Diablo3, LastEpoch.

they arent bad thoguh.

and they are rare as heck to justify their effect.

and once you get 1 you can open up so many builds (mageblood for example can make u perma dmg reduction, faster movement, more mf/res, etc. all which drastically change gear for some builds)

Diablo could use some of these type of general purpose and extremely rare/strong becasue it opens up more options.

90% of builds are viable in PoE. (plz stop nerfing minion necro GGG…)

ofc there are meta builds (always will be) but they are vast options and ways to tweak builds to your style of play.

the amount of systems PoE has is why ppl will say “look a build up” instead of try it yourself as if you try ti yourself you are actively harming your enjoyment of game.

This is the most nonsensical thread i ve ever seen and the only purpose seems to be some ego issues? Why is the OP so concerned with how others play that doesnt impact him and what is up with the more and more absurd use of the word “boomer”?

Honestly if you dont care about Trading and dislike it how on earth does it impact your personal game in any way - dont use it problem solved? This isnt a PvP game and hopefully never will be and even if it was i see no problem with trading.

I did, it was worse about the “follow a guide” thing than even now lol.

did you not see the pvp currency in your inventory screen during Beta?

pvp is a aprt of game (just dont know exactly how important it will be yet)

The game will not be balanced for PvP so who cares? This isnt some esports game if someone with a good traded item beats you - who cares?

Before you remove trading get rid of PvP. Games without hardcore PvP players mostly have a way better Community.
