I am a very casual player, have a 100 HOTA barb, able to clear Tier 10 AOZ dungeon with ease, only to be one shot by the blood seekers in the end. Just enough time for my disobedience stacks to fall off, is very frustrating! Anyone has the same experience? don’t want to continue any more, not worth the time, at this point, no reward, no experience, no nothing
Hate to say it but I’m pretty sure the spawn delay is specifically to make sure timed buffs drop off.
Diablo 4: Elites are fine, Blood Seekers are overpowered (youtube.com)
This for me was just a tier 6. I lack a Shako, but pretty much geared as defensively as you can get for a Sorc.
The first few seconds demonstrate a normal elite damage that I was receiving. It’s slowly taking my health, but nothing dramatic. The second half is when the Blood Seekers spawn. I barely touch a ground effect and am instantly killed.
Without a Shako, there’s no way at this point I can get more defense on my character. Like, I am completely built for defense here. There needs to be some balance.
AoZ is the Epitome of bad lazy design.
They took the worst parts of greater rifts and made it into our endgame.
i also find the density also a problem, buffs will fade from pack to pack some times also.
before you engage them make sure you have challenging shout off cooldown. try and pull only one or two. make sure to use challenging shout for the dmg reduction. should keep you alive till you build your disobedience back up
And make sure you have all the useful pylons line up properly for you to reign supreme before the blood seekers step foot.
Try and think of it as the longer you are out of combat the more overpower buffs cycle back up. Plus always fight with pylon.
I feel as a HoTA Barb, getting one shot at T10 is probably my least worry. You got a huge potential there to push against higher tiers unlike other builds/classes.
Also the domination vampire power will execute you when you fight them. It’s either a bug or some kind of reflect.
The real problem here is that even the most defensive builds will get randomly one shot even without that bugged vampiric power. Player damage grows way beyond defensive ability. If you look at the top Sorc builds running BL, most of them have nearly no defense and are spec’d just for damage. As you get higher, you need to sacrifice defense for more damage. Thus, it’s better to just fish for clears.
Plus, having a few extra damage resists don’t mean anything when everything does more damage than can reasonably be negated.
I just love it when I die to ground effects I can’t see while in a pack. Such great game design. /s
I just love it when I get to the Blood Seekers and they just do 20 times more damage than anything else and have tons and tons of health for no reason. /s
AoZ has a lot of work to be done before it is “good”. Grinding a glyph to get to a higher tier is boring.
I thought it was just me. I constantly die and wonder what the hell killed me, there was nothing on the ground, just a clear one shot out of nowhere. This is just dumb.
So true. The Sorcerer paragon board allows for only 200 armor, less than one skull in the jewelry. The nodes for it are also located too far away from a glyph that grants bonuses, so there is no way to improve.
I really hate the one shot mechanism in this game.
Not just random stuff. It is usually a poison or fire ground explosion you are unable to see. The even more fun one is the ground fear that does damage for some unknown reason. You lose total control of your character but then it does tons of damage which makes no sense.
This ^ Are you running the Domination vampiric power? If so, you can get executed when you get CC’d.
The only thing you can do since obedience falls off is run away and wait for your cooldowns to come back before you engage them. This is what I do and I play hota barb as well and doing this allowed me to clear t20.
I understand the frustration, but really if I or anyone else came here complaining they get killed immediately trying to do a t80 or t90 NMD, all you’d hear is “git gud” well…
well, because in the end, thats most of the time the issue.
Exactly, plenty of people are making it through the oneshots. One shot’s happen in every NMD, if you’re pushing higher than you or your character are capable of. I get oneshot all the time trying higher NMD’s, that’s just the way it goes. AoZ is the hardest of the NMD’s there is going to be 1 shots period.
