NM dungeon with monsters draining resource on hit?

What a joke… That is just amazing game design at it’s best.

you see resource drain on the key, you salvage it… same as many other affixes…
this game is designed to take fun away from you.

The gimmicks on the NM dungeons are just dumb - who though these annoying things would be fun for players? oh a lighting bolt will one shot me unless I back track to hide under a bubble every 2mins? an annoying shadow thing follows me around constantly for the entire run…fun…there are like a couple that pretty much everyone plays and the rest are insta-salvage…just confusing the thought process behind this

My rogue has a bunch of hearts from the season that give 69% resistance to resource drain and also increase resource regen by about 8%. I was thinking about using it, but then I thought, “that means I’d have to start doing nm dungoens with resource drain,” and I just decided against it, lol. Hey, maybe they are op, though. I dunno.

Yes, that’s a thing.

You know the great thing about NM dungeons? You can see what modifiers you have to deal with before you activate the key. So if you see a modifier you don’t like? You don’t do that key. Amazing right?

I had a good laugh at the resource drain hearts, because that’s the solution to a terrible mechanic rather than just getting rid of the mechanic.

But these affixes are 100% designed to be frustrating, not challenging.

NM dungeons kinda work just like maps in POE.

There are some affixes your build cannot handle, so you have no choice, but to skip it.

For most builds resource drains suck, but for spenderless builds like druid trample-slide they are a nothing burger. I imagine every build just auto-salvages those particular affixes that play poorly for them, but the resource drain does seem to affect a disproportionately large number of builds.

Create a problem and make you grind the solution. Straight outa PoE.
Maps with Reflect would have been gone by now if not for Sextant modifiers muting them.

Some of the Dungeon Affixes I don’t mind like Volcanic or Dwayne Johnson. Some are total troll bait like the Thunder Dome. I like Affixes that make you play different but these aren’t halfway there.

PoE Affixes are literally just 90% stat inflation which I always found boring.

That’s exactly what some of them are supposed to be. Different affixes are frustrating, if not downright impossible depending on your build.

Your job is recognizing those and skipping them. To be fair, the critizism here is the same as maps in POE, yet in the end people adapted.

With that said, if some affixes are never done by any build, you either need to make more builds available or remove the affix.

The best is the blood blisters that grow next to you and explode for 95% of your life…

THAT YOU CAN’T LOS AROUND A CORNER FROM… so even if you have moved past the location of one growing… BLAMO!!! you still get killed an entire hallway away.

I am convinced the entire Affix system is setup on troll mode for NMs

Except no build could deal with certain affixes at all on NM 90+.
Maybe they can now but stuff like Thunder Dome was an instant brick cuz you can’t stand still.

The Lightning Storm/Dome I don’t mind, but Stormbane’s Wrath and Blood Blister are instant salvage.
