I’m in the same boat. I got through half the campaign in the first season, quit, and now I’d like to play this season, though the campaign is in the way. I loved the base campaign of D4, and I don’t mind playing VoH, just rather at the time I choose, not rush it now just for the sake of playing the season
It’s not a big deal though, I’ll just complete it slowly, and then try to figure out the season after, but I’d have preferred to do it the other way around.
Thats the issue, completing the base game is enough, unless you paid for the expansion now you have 2 hoops to jump thru, not 1. Nowhere is this apparent. Why does this barrier exist to begin with, just let people play the game.
Yeah, I’d prefer it like in PoE, where the season and the campaign are symbiotic, not that the campaign is in the way of the season. Being able to skip it, is fine, but I don’t think it’d be bad for the game, if we could play the campaign together with the season.
so i went back to Eternal, finished up the campaign quest, or so i thought. Killed the wolf, went through the stuff after. Then Ormus wanted to see me, have me complete the slayers quests. Did that, then Ormus wanted to see me again, now gives me other things to do still in the campain questline.
Went back to S7 to see if maybe i could do it now, nope. Now its telling me to complete the tenes of depravity questline and do 3 dungeons in Nahantu. Does this ever end ?
sorry to bother you, but since i assume this question will pop up quite a few more times. when exactly does the prologue end again in voh? i absolutely forgot to be honest.
sorry, got to say this is pretty bizarre. If you DIDNT buy VOH, your good to go, have a nice season. If you did make the MISTAKE of buying VOH, sorry you have to complete the campaign, or something, not so sure as i think ive done it but still not able to do S7 questline. Almost like i am being punished for paying $$$ for an expanion that i felt was less than exciting.
Wait…if you didn’t buy it the season is fine, if YOU did, you must have it completed? Zero impact to me since I won’t be playing S7 and didn’t buy VoH, but that’s odd.
so if you bought d4 ultimate edition (like i did - the fool) and you beat it within a day of release and if you want to play s7 you are good to go now.
however if you were dumb and got suckered into buying the voh xpac and already beat the orginal game, now you have to do more stuff to start s7… just seems like a punch in the naughty bits
well, I have a lot of games to play in general, so I just didn’t finish the VoH campaign, as I also have other things I need to do in life too- But at least it’s only gated behind the prologue, and not the whole campaign, which is actually really good, as doing the season alongside the campaign is fun. Sadly we can’t do that with the base game, even though it’d be fun to complete it on higher world tiers again
what is the prologue exactly ? i feel i did that already but still have no access to the questline in S7 I killed wolf and the stuff that came after, but then Ormus had me on other quests as part of campagn.
i didnt play s6, i honestly havent played much d4 since domo mr.roboto season, that season was so bad it ruined me for playing d4, im always looking to see if d4 can be fun again like s2… hopefully some day that will happen and mounts will be as fast as they were for that few days in some season…
according to wowhead, the presaging faith quest is the end of the main campaign where you can now skip VOH for alts. This is where you meet Prava in the windswept cabin. I have done this already, yet the toon i created in S7 BEFORE i completed this, i guess is screwed because i was not given the option to skip.
So not only do you have to finish VOH to this point, but you have to start a new character for it to apply.
