New season is trash here is why

1 - Too much RNG.
If you plan on playing end game(high level pit, Uber bosses), you need a GA on an item, possibly on 2 or more affixes. Then you need to be able to temper 2 of the desired affixes, and then you want the master working to hit a meaningful affix, arguably more than once.
That’s just too much. There is absolutely no way to justify so many layers of RNG. It’s basically gambling non stop.

2 - Tempering made swapping builds near impossible.
Say you are playing firebolt sorc. Every single item you have has either pyromancy attack speed and or fire damage. Good luck swapping to frost bolt. You can try to re-temper the item assuming you have rolls left but then you are risking bricking a perfectly viable item and make it unusable with any build. Best course of action is to re-farm your entire gear and re-temper accordingly. Which is extremely difficult.

For those 2 reasons alone the amount of grind that needs to go in to farming gear has quadrupled.

Bonus : For some reason gem shards are extremely rare to come by. Playing my 3rd 100 character and I still can’t craft enough royal rubies and Topaz’s. What’s up with that?

edit :
Another thing I forgot. Aren’t you tired of picking up a GA item, get excited only to see the GA is life per second or life on hit ? Loot is absolute trash this season. Might be the most demoralizing season when it comes to loot.

I’d say the gold sink is the major issue this season, but I agree on gem shards also they seem very rare, 2 lvl 100 chars and I can’t fully royal gem even one of them lol

I have several royal gems. You guys are busy leveling chars, and not doing the endgame content or something.

Other complaints are valid though. For gems you just need to farm, they drop in packs of ~224 at 100

Took some time but 3 toon all top gems, have spares now.

I love how this thread is directly under one titled ‘awesome job blizzard, not being sarcastic’.

The internet was a mistake.

Takes 10k per royal gem and I farm t100 pits on repeat same with glitched helltides …

Actually doing the Beast in the ice seem to drop more then most places.

I shall try thanks for the tip

  1. Hence why trading was opened up. If you’re going to be sweaty, you’re going to have to do sweaty things. Just how the game is right now. Unless you have some insane amount of luck for every piece of gear that drops for you.

  2. So you want to go back to a system where you have to find items with 4 out of 5 affixes and hope they fit any build you could possibly make? Seems a little far fetched here.

Yes tempering makes it easier to specialize a build, that’s the whole point. Start saving up other pieces if you want to switch. Don’t temper them right away.

I feel as if these problems are self made. Although it’s different then the typical tempering bad posts, so kudos for that.

Its not as bad as people say, perfect roll yes but getting close is close enough for me.

If you’re swapping around builds, do you need everything maxed out and BiS?

1 - Yeah good luck saving billions for 3 GA legendaries or uniques. That in itself is another problem because economy in these games are determined by hardcore players. 500 mil can be affordable for someone who plays 10 hours a day but not by any casual player. So 95% of the playerbase trading good items is not a possibility, and so is getting perfect rolls on everything.

2 - Not saying that system is perfect but still more convenient than this. There are more specialized stats in this season thanks to tempering and without those stats your gear is completely meaningless. This can easiy be solved however by removing the tempering cap.

They are probably spending most their time in helltides and ignoring NMD, where gem crafting materials drop far more often.

Nope, just time consuming.
A thing you want from a game, I’d guess.
Not being able to beat a gmae in one sitting isn’t bad…

Getting another set (for frost in this case) isn’t that hard to do.

Because I can guarantee you’d be complaining about nothing to do if you had infinite rolls to make your gear as comfy as you think it needs to be. 100% of the time.

I run 3 Barbs 3 different builds, i can use alot of the gear if it gets bricked. One i play around with testing builds i brick alot,i go find more and farm more when i have too. Cost me 100’s of millions to try builds.

Hahahahahahahhahahahaha.

Too much RNG??

First Diablo game eh?

By difficulty I’m also talking about the layer on top of layer of RNG. It is extremely frustrating. You can find the item you want, but the GA is not on the stat you want. Go try again. You find the one with the right GA, but your tempering isn’t good, or you couldn’t roll an affix @ the occultist. Item is trash, try again.
Farming duriel last season was extremely time consuming but the ubers were the be all end all. You get the one you want and your build is complete.
Tempering is fun, but I think GA and master working needs rework and Tempering roll cap needs to be removed. Like I said, there is absolutely no way to justify the amount of RNG that goes into getting a good item. It’s just demoralizing.

  1. Again, if you want to do sweaty things, you’re going to have to get sweaty yourself. You can do it casually, but don’t compare yourself to some one who has 60 hours a week to spend playing the game, then complain you can’t get it done in the 4 hours you have.

I don’t have that kind of time myself, nor would I expect to reach the levels they do because they can spend more time in the game. It’s about managing expectations. I’m casual and I’m pushing Pit Tier 70 right now with gear I’ve found, and 1 piece I traded for very cheap.

If you want to be competitive you’ll have to put in the time, plain and simple. Or if you just want to tackle the hardest content in the game, you’re going to have to put in the time. Many games are like this.

So what you’re asking for is the ability to reroll infinitely to get whatever stats you want eventually, for whatever build you may want to play at that moment. I mean good luck to you, I don’t see it happening myself, but stranger things have happened.
