I prefer levelling solo at my own pace but when done I find doing game activities as a group a lot more enjoyable, this is coming from a solo game player who hesitated buying D4 because it was an online exclusive game. I don’t necessarily need a group for Boss rotas and Uber hunt. I play a lot, enough to get my Ubers solo. Last season doing Duriel runs, I would usually try to invite players to join. I was providing the mats. Sometimes they agreed but most of the time they had their own business going on and would refuse, probably not knowing why I was inviting them. Sure, would be nice to an in-game system to organize group game activities.
I got a Shako the 12th time I killed T4 Varshan in S4.
how does matchmaking lead to more social aspects.
i mean, i play lol. so yea. all games are built upon matchmaking there. sometime for the worse ^
i honestly dont think its asked too much of players to, you know, search for a group before they do stuff.
as i said, the d3 groups where pretty nice. ^^
Matchmaking is a casual way to enjoy the grouping aspects of the game and meet people without the hassle. It is far quicker than forming a group. Typically with Matchmaking, you want to enjoy the content and either need the help or others, or want the company of others. You might not even type to them, it still makes you feel connected and not playing a Single-Player game. I mean, old antiquated Diablo even had a Lobby system and I felt like I spent most of my time in groups rather than solo. They have this large open world and failed to capitalize on it.
Do you not see how far of a step back this is? This is akin to 20+ years ago me having to go into mIRC Chat rooms and try to round up people, start a Roger Wilco VC, and share an IP Address so we could have a shared game. That was tedious. We have the means to fix that, choosing not to and defending that decision is dumb.
Lost Ark has a Group Finder Tool and Matchmaking in addition to Global and Regional Chat. Any Legion Raid, you would use a Group Finder. For Guardian Raids and Hardmode Dungeons, Matchmaking was fine for that.
Lost Ark also did not have an effective communication system built into the game which pushed players to have to use Discord voice chat and lobbies. I am not a 15 year old kid and allowing a company to be lazy AF and use third party tools is stupid.
Your mentality is like defending Blizzard for doing a crappy job with their interface and relying on modders to fix their game for them in WoW. Or in Diablo 4s case if you want ANY meaningful information on the game you have to go to a third party website to plan and build your character or understant how damage is calculated, what the hidden Attack Speed buckets are and what the cap is, what the Armor scaling is by enemy level (until Blizzard straight out and said they are capping it, players had to figure that out).
The list goes on but there is no need to white knight the company for failing to provide players tools to have a better experience.
Same. Never seen the mythical uber unique even though I’ve completed all four seasons.
Played since launch, did eternal only. Skipped timeframe of season 3 as I was fed up with the complete lack of any sort of reasonable design behind gear. (Another story.) Returned at loot reborn. During this time frame, received my first uber ever, Tyrael’s Might (from regular Varshan!) Got dragged through Lilith, got a spark. Killed tormented Varshan on my alt, got a spark. Within maybe 60 Andy and Duriel kills, got two more Tyrael’s Mights in the span of about 8 fights.
Made my Shako. Needed a double crit on resource regen because I was losing +mana/sec on my helm (had good 2GAs everywhere else I could roll it and didn’t want to give it up.)
Got it within 4 resets then holy crap triple crit!!! YAY!!!
…a week later I found out ubers were getting redone and the new one is (mostly) better.
LUCKY but still somehow managed to be unlucky!! lol
I think it’s pretty simple.
The changes on mechanics, itemization for season 4 and season 5 - were due to misatakes.
Without these mistakes, we would have a stable environment for eternal.
Eternal players didn’t really make much of stink with season 2 and 4, this is change however is very fast.
It’s not that we don’t roll with the punches, but at a certain point, we need to say, “Wait, hold up, what’s actually going on here?”
Traditionally the mythics changes were retro, now they are not. eternal players have salvaged ubers/mytics for season 1-3 and having to do again is a gross overstep - especially in the setting of feedback from PTR saying mythics and regular uniques had a power banding problem as most were not as strong as tempered legendaries or marginally better.
Nice on the triple crit. Helmet is still good. New one is just better.
I think its too low. Ive killed tormented bossess 12 times this season and no mythic.
Was the drop rate for normal Duriel and Andarial changed at all?
They need to add a bad luck system… this is really annoying. Currently at 68 kills… not one Mythic drop at all. I carry a level 80 and he gets one the first damn kill as a sorc… Every sorc that i’ve ran with seems to have a huge increase % at drops… Was forced to make an alt, to get a spark to even get a mythic to get my build going for my rogue… still trying to get the ring and chest, Stupid… Lowkey making me not even care to play the rest of the season tbh.
45+ Tormented kills later and nothing… This ‘game’ is becoming very unrewarding to play.
They already have one. All you need to do is grind rep for sparks.
Did around 25 Tormented Bosses so far, still no Mythic, didn’t even get a Spark from my first kill. Situation is still not as bad as it is for some of you. I had more luck last season. With 25 kills I believe I already got 2 or 3. I am playing a Sorc. Unfortunately, no increased drop rate for me.
Back to farming mats and Stones. It will take me a while before I can do more runs.
Somehow the drop rate feels worse than pre-tormented bosses. Done 200 kills and only seen two mythic items.
The Mythics are easier to get now. I have tested this thoroughly. Rest knowing you are in good hands in S5.
I got a Shako in S4 off T4 normal Varshan.
I had a Doombringer drop off normal beast last season (prior to drop rate increase)
This has not been my experience. Two mythic items in 200 kills, which dispels the idea of a 7.3% drop rate. It is closer to a flat 1.5%. Even with bad luck that should not happen. The drop rate was better in previous seasons.
I wouldn’t run the non tormented bosses.
I doubt any do past a certain level. My 200 kills have been all tormented bosses.
