I’ve been really enjoying Season 2. There are a bunch of really fun builds that absolutely tear through stuff, leveling is a blast, and generally game is fun to play.
That said, I keep hitting a very literal wall of garbage ever 5 minutes or so when my inventory is completely filled with items and I have to stop playing the game to sort through it. 9 times out of 10 I end up salvaging all of it.
At first I tried only picking up Legendaries, but ran into the same problem.
So my solution now is I just don’t pick up anything.
It may seem counter intuitive for an ARPG loot game, but it’s really solved my, “stop every 5 minutes to take out the trash” issue I kept running into, now I can just focus on playing the game.
Anyhow, if you find yourself dreading another Dungeon run in Diablo 4 because you can’t bare to sort through another wall of useless items in your inventory I strongly suggest just not picking up anything.
It might seem weird at first, but after a few runs you’ll notice that you’re no longer dreading opening your inventory, that tension in your shoulders is gone, and you’re just having fun again.
I can do exactly one nmd before going back to town. Sucks a lot. Also 90% is instant salvage and 5% is salvage after consideration. The rest are aspects that i might want.
weapon upgrades are far inbetween and there’s always the type you don’t use (for example, i only use bows so i automaticaly scrap all non legendary crossbows and legendary with powers i don’t want or rolled badly)
start with jewelry as those can fill up your inventory quickly, plan out the affixes you want and after you get them, scrap everything untill the next tier.
same for armor (boots you can scrap 99% of the time as you’ll probably be going for a unique pair) plan on what affixes you need, quickly glance at them, do they have 2 affixes you don’t use? scrap it.
if your inventory is clogged with legendaries, type a short sentence in the search function, take out all of the same ones, compare and scrap the worst ones.
it’s a lot of work but at least this way it’s kind of managable
Same. I do have to go back and empty bags when doing the Blood events. That is GOOD though. I don’t mind having one area that produces lots of loot and salvage mats. The fact that keys and blood lures carry over between events removes all stress about time. It does not matter if I go to town and salvage because it is not a race. I can just continue when ready and there is always a blood event up. I rather like it.
When it comes to Dungeons though, there is a feature in Immortal I like. They have a Blacksmith at the end of the Rifts. So you can go from rift to rift without having to travel to an area of town and deal with loot.
You can do that at the Blacksmith if you wish. You can also mark things junk and have them salvage all marked junk, including legendary items, without extra clicks.
At this point unless it is a unique my 100 necro will leave it on the ground. I have tons of gold and salvage and have enough aspects on standby. Plus my vampire powers are all 3 and I just hit level 18 for the blood harvest so there is no reason to go there anymore.

Holy crap, this is a game changer and idk why I never considered this an option. You’ll still have to gloss over each item individually and mark it as junk, but scrapping in one shot makes it worth it.
No sarcasm lol. I’ve literally never used the mark as junk option because 9 out of 10 times a loaded inventory is all junk so I scrap all and just individually scrap the legendaries. Wasn’t ever really a problem since D3 operated that way so it was just natural to do.
Edit: I’m playing with controller so I have to do item things individually instead of hovering a mouse over items
I would never complain about TOO MUCH loot. Consider the only fix is not enough loot.
But I will complain about the low percentage of loot that is actually an upgrade once you get past level 70. I was hoping that would be resolved, but it is still an issue.
I’m having this issue right now at lvl58. I’ve mostly only found weapon upgrades, and that’s fine, but I’m real close to having my damage and armor be 1:1 wtf
Would be nice if we just got a salvage option in our inventory at this point. Especially since the WT3/4 loot is still giving non-sacred/ancestral items all over the place instead of making those materials only on monster kill/pickup. It’s among the myriad parts of the game that are just not working right at all this patch, sadly.
Problem is, the junk key is the Evade key as well, and a lot of us that play multiple games like this are used to spacebar (the junk key) closing windows, not marking junk. Personally I’d just get rid of the junk key and keep the “keep” key. It wouldn’t be so bad if the UI weren’t half-baked.
