More Feedback from the Beta (Needs improvements)

Things I didn’t like about the game so far is:

    1. The UI is terrible looking, feels like it’s made for mobile. The way you have to search for your stats etc is very bad, also the inventory area feels too small. Also don’t like the font that much, would rather they used exocet from past diablos if they couldn’t come up with a new original good font, the ones we have right now just feels so basic.
  1. We only have 4+2 buttons to bind, there should be AT LEAST one more ability to bind…
You have 8 in Lost Ark + Ultimate button(s), D2R you can literally bind your every ability, even in D3 we had more.
    1. Guess this can be personal preference, but I felt like the character design was really meh. Females have no curves and even the males look like twigs (apart from barb and the druid). And the customization is really not that impressive at all, it’s basically world of warcraft character creation. If you compare it to Lost Ark for example, you can change so many things about your character in comparison. I also want to point that when you’re not happy how your character looks like you will not spend as much real money on cosmetics either (at least this will be my case for sure).
  1. No trading will hurt the game in the long run, repeatability will be very limited in the long run without it, also less community driven. Trading is and should be part of a ARPG. (Good examples would be PoE, D2/D2R, Lost Ark etc).
    1. Necromancer felt too easy to play in comparison to other classes, I actually got bored on how easy it felt. I also have to point out that I did not like the design of the skeletons glowing like they did. Would much rather have regular scary looking skeletons than the ones we have right now, also I feel like they are too big in size.
  1. With direct comparison to D2 for example the zones still feel cramped, like you have those horse racing things on your face that make you tunnelvision and you’re very limited to go where the game wants you to go, but I guess this is happening on other newer games as well. I liked the large open zones in D2R much more.
    1. Dungeons felt very repetitive, I know this is only one act we have experienced, but it has me a bit worried about the end game. Also not really digging the whole snake shaped dungeons with no randomization in where to go, nor the “kill all monsters or collect x and y to open z.”

As for positives:

  • Atmosphere, darkness and lighting feels good
  • Story was so so, improvement from D3 at the very least.
  • Game runs buttery smooth, no problems on that department.
  • Voice acting felt solid.
  • Combat/animations felt ok
  • Music was ok, but not anywhere near good as in D2

Can’t comment on itemization yet, but I liked that in D2R you could basically get a rare ring for example in the very early game that could basically be used in endgame as well.
