Anyone know if there are quests that you can get locked out from if you do not do them in the right order or if you progress too far in the campaign?
I just remembered this being a tad bit of a chore in some games and although it makes sense occasionally, I hope D4 doesn’t pull this kind of a stunt. Anyone heard of anything?
Judging by the nature of the open-world non-linear design, I’m gonna wager that there’s no quests you can miss out on.

In the beta there wasn’t any that I missed due to progressing but it was only level 20-25
But since it’s tied to renown I would say no since it would be counterintuitive

No.
There are side quests initiated by mob drops, or random bodies laying around that you could easily miss or bypass, but theres nothing that you can mess up or accidently skip that could prevent you from 100%ing quests.

Thank you all for the quick replies. Started googling for it, but nobody has a concrete answer. I’m glad this won’t be a feature. Have a good one!

There aren’t any quests that I know of that you can get locked out of but there are some that only drop off of either a certain enemy or an enemy type. And there was also a quest chain that you had to follow in order to unlock one of the dungeons that I found while following it and was surprised.

Those are fine, they tend to be repeatable, even if not in the moment, but eventually. I was more concerned of doing a play-through and much later noticing that I missed something which I can only complete if I do a re-run.

I don’t think I ran across those. I’ll have to keep my eyes open for that. Thanks.

Buddy, apparently there aren’t any according to the others. So hopefully you don’t find one.

Considering they count for map completion, no. You shouldn’t be able to miss any quests.

Yeah, that sorta stuff can drive me up a wall in games. Makes me not even want to bother with them when they do that sort of thing.
Do you have any source about such repeatable quests?
There are side quest that depends on each other. The quests with the axe, for example. So it may be possible you clear an area and miss a follow up quest because you didnt completed the initial quest somewhere else.
so far from what i saw in the beta, no you can do the side quests in any order
and for acts you can start with any of the first 3 acts as you wish (confirmed by devs)
no wrong … there is correct order how to do them … some are progress quests, like 123 etc … some appear after you finish 4th quest …
new progress can appear only after leaving a zone … so you might think you have already been there, no new quest so you are looking elsewhere but it might appear if you go back …
also some quests are rng … drop from corpses, chests, plants, killing correct enemy in the correct zone … if you check 3 quests guides they will say each different zone so … thats kinda bad
i just tried doing one in hawezar where you have to “mine” ore but for 5 hours, hundreds of veins, not a one …
quests are kinda tricky and glitchy
no idea. im missing like 1-2 sidequests for each region and i cant figure out where to begin to look.
bummer.
no theres no more blue markers for those
they must be from drops or gathers or something.
No.
Not with the way renown/achievement works.
These quests are triggered usually by exploring and gathering items. For example, picking a flower will yield a quest item too.
Kor Valar becomes hostile to you after the campaign. Those side quests are missable.
I’ve finished all side quests two days ago, it was tough. Used multiple sites from Google, because they mostly shows opposite information about the same quests. But I believe now it’s better\fuller that It was at the first week. Good luck.
