You clearly haven’t read the ToS. You can and should get banned for buying gold/RMT with money. Blizzard obviously cares about this and, FYI, it isn’t YOUR game; you merely have a license to play it.
So basically: trading, which results in RMT activity =>>> CHEATING.
It’s not that people don’t want trading per se. THEY JUST DON’T LIKE CHEATERS. PERIOD.
All these people making threads asking Blizzard for an AH. Ultimately, they’re just bad faith shills for RMT because even if it’s limited to in-game gold, someone will find a way to inject real money into it, whether it’s splitting transactions or buying accounts wholesale.
Blizzard can’t catch everyone but it doesn’t mean that it should then spend game resources catering to a bunch of CHEATERS. People are so scared of calling it what it is: if you’re buying gold for real dollars in a grind-based ARPG, you’re cheating. Go play Diablo Immortal. Blizzard already designed a game like that where you don’t get banned for PTW.
You having a credit card doesn’t give you a license to cheat. Don’t have time to play and want life easy? Too bad. That’s life. The reality you live in that affords you the ability to waste cash on frivolities has trade-offs – maybe you’ve got to work hard and haven’t got the time to play. No one is crying for you.
You’re not – full stop – entitled to have the best experience that grinders have. Go have fun playing Pit 30. It’s the same experience anyway. I don’t understand why Pit 145 courtesy of MasterCard or Visa or Amex has to be a thing that other people tolerate. How can you feel proud of an ‘accomplishment’ that you traded real cash for?

They just need to create a Solo Self Found Seasonal league (disables trading) to eliminate competition with whales - when they do have ladders.

trading is currently the only way to fix the broken economy of the game. If they remove trading, just make everything cheaper by a factor of 5000 atleast.
No reskill costs anymore, No reroll cost anymore, basically making Gold completely useless is the only way to ensure a halfway decent gaming experience without trading.
RMT doesnt even matter for this.
And even if they do this, it will be impossible to find good items with good stats for all slots by yourself within a season.
And that’s ok - perfection shouldn’t be attainable for casuals (myself included). Otherwise isn’t it pay to win? Separate servers sound like a great compromise- ours would be bot free.
if you dont pay money, its not pay to win. Farming stygian stones in pits and selling them for ingame currency is not cheating.

A solo self found league with no trading allowed and better drop rates than a trading league would make sense - as you can’t simply buy what you need off the AH (trade websites).

you cant either way, its not that tripple GA items with the correct BiS Stats are easily obtainable / available. You would actually have to trade ALOT to get the gold to buy a full set of the best of the best items.
Atleast farming stygian stones and selling them wouldnt be nearly enough to do this.
Maybe some master brain traders with skills, people actually not playing the game but only trading their way up could do it.
Offering a solo self found (no trading) league has NO downside. Many people who play D4 what to play at their pace and aren’t comfortable with 3rd party websites to get ahead of other players.
SSF mode wouldn’t hurt anyone as those players aren’t engaged in gold farming or trading anyways.

and it would change nothing bc their gaming experience would be the same besides “im envy little kid bc streamer x/y has stuff i cant get, im so far behind bc everyone else is cheating”.
Solo players get less boss drops
My point exactly…they could BUFF solo drop rates in a SSF league - as you can’t trade/sell anything. WIN for everyone.
Rather than FORCING players to play/compete one way…why not give options:
- Trade/AH/Whales
- Solo NO Trade/AH/Whales

im just saying it, and its not meant in a bad or disrespectful way.
the crying about things in this game that arent broken, from people in the forums, is ruining it, bc eventually some devs might read it and actually do not so smart things like “nerfing everything, or adjusting things according to a loud minority of players with basically mental health issues bc they cant “”“compete””" when there isnt even competition in this game yet".
Why do you personally like trading?
i dont like it, its necessary to play the game because everything else without it is broken.
cant find items, cant reroll, cant afford anything, always broke, cant find mats no matter how many hours i try… everything is just adjusted to trading and the game does in its current form not work without it.
And i also like to share items i find that i dont need to friends to help them out, even if they werent online when ive found them.
So what is holding you back?
