Well Iām running it on Win 7, so it definitely doesnāt need win 10. Something screwy with that error.

For giggles I tried running all the shortcuts/executables with Windows 7 Compatibility checked, but it didnāt work. 
Honestly I was a little surprised myself. I was expecting to have to jump through all kinds of stupid hoops to get it to run on linux. Only thing it griped about was a slightly more up to date driver for my rx 570. Overall it seems to be running decently.

With respect, you donāt seem to understand the issue. The people complaining donāt have an old/unsupported version of Windows.
The launcher is refusing to launch the game unless the Windows 10 version is detected as 1909 or higher, this was presumably set because Microsoft lo longer support older versions of Windows 10 Home Edition. However not everyone uses Windows 10 home! A lot of professionals/gamers use Pro/Enterprise editions for the extra stability/functionality and versions before 1909 are still in support/use!
I.E Windows 10 Enterprise 2019 LTSC has years of support left but because it doesnāt show as 1909 or higher the launcher refuses to run the game.
To make it worse not only are Enterprise versions prior to 1909 still in support (and will be for many years) but many cannot be upgraded to later revisions without completely reinstalling the whole system. So youāre essentially demanding that people buy and install a completely new operating system on their computer just to play a game that would run fine on their supported version of Windows if the launcher was coded better, lol.
This is an obvious bug/flaw with the launcher presumably caused by whoever coded the launcher only setting it check for 1909 or higher versions and not knowing there are none-Home Editions of Windows 10, it needs fixing before the game goes live as this is being reported by dozens of players and thatās just ones who preordered and tried to play beta.

Same problem: Windows 10 Enterprise LTSC version 1809 - cannot run the game because of the version check. Cannot update because that IS the latest version (and that version IS fully supported by Microsoft). Itās unreasonable to expect people to change their (up to date) OS just to run a game - ideally change it to whatever checks Diablo 3/Immortal use, because those launch just fine.
Has the issue been forwarded? Is someone working on fixing it?
Will it still be broken for the next beta weekend?

I just want to share I had the same problem. What fixed it for me is I just logged in my microsoft account in windows. The issue disappeared after that. I do not know if this will fix the issue for you. Worth a try though.
isnāt it common with blizzard nowaday? they just donāt understand/donāt care. itās time to vote with you dineros or get on the bandwagon and get os reinstalled. i took the 1st route.

a newer version of WDDM (Windows Display Driver Model) for running on a more recent version of dx12 is required. support for win10 1809 (LTSC) not gonna happen, impossible.

OK. Thatās a step in the right direction. So we need to update WDDMā¦
Windows 10 1809 updated to WDDM 2.5. WDDM 2.5 requires a GTX 730 minimum and a 4th gen CPU (e.g. the ā4ā in i5-4570).
So for those with an older version of Windows, but a good enough CPU and graphics card, there may be hope.
I read that someone updated their WDDM driver by downloading processor drivers from Intelā¦ [edit: I think they may have actually updated their Intel graphics drivers not CPU.]
unfortunately the WDDM is not only bound to hardware and can at a certain point only be updated via windows version updates.
Windows 10 1809 is absolutely limited to WDDM 2.5 (max)
On wikipedia there is a feature list of which WDDM version is implemented for the different windows versions.
There is no hope.

i cant tell the issue you are having from your post.
Your CPU and plattform both support the latest windows 10 version there is.
You can also install/update to windows 11 if you disable the TPM and CPU check via registry.
If you complain about chipset drivers, welp nobody needs those.
i recommend doing a fresh install instead of trying to āupdateā tho. Can create an ISO with Rufus that has those CPU&TPM checks disabled.

PS EVGA already dropped support for that hardware long ago. Donāt expect anyone to support it if the manufacture themselves already deemed it end of life.
Hello, thanks for your attention. Yes. Iāve read all these posts on the EVGA forum, Iām aware of that. Maybe some also donāt know that the error is because old motherboards stopped support, and wonāt update beyond 1909 or maybe less than that.
I donāt know if Blizzard was already aware that the recommended configurations of old hardware would have this limitation regarding Windows versions, and there could be complaints. Or as of version 1909 there is something that is needed to run Diablo 4.
Iāll do a hardware upgrade soon.
