Pretty sure that’s not the reason.

But just to point out, Apple seems to not care about gaming or gamers, at least not in the sense of full screen games like most of the Blizzard titles, among others.

It is because of how the Apple systems have been designed that it has forced game developers to abandon making games for them, as the hassle and requirements are too steep and costly to bother with.

So its not a matter of everyone hating on Macs.

But rather a matter of Apple not wanting to play nice with everyone else, while still overcharging their customer base and telling them they will like it.

At least that’s how it looks. lol

Game on.

Worse still I pre-purchased D4 and there was no mention that it wouldn’t be available on my iMac which i have been using for blizzard games since Warcraft 1 on small disks.

Then you are either wilfully blind or lazy. Did you not see the system requirements? Did you see any mention of MacOS as being one of the supported OSes? It specifically states Windows 10 or higher as a requirement.

Windows market share: 69%
Mac market share: 17%

That’s why most gaming companies put low priority on developing for Mac.

Blizzard has not been making games for Mac in a long time. WoW still has some Mac support but that is about it, other than mobile type games that can run on a phone or tablet.

OW, Diablo 2 Resurected, Diablo Immortal PC version, and Diablo 4 are all not available on Mac.

That was stated in the System Requirements and by the Devs many times. There have been threads discussing it over the years.

If you have purchased it for Mac and are not able to play then you should be eligible for a refund.

How to Request a Refund

You can usually request a refund automatically using our support site and selecting the relevant game or product.

We will typically refund purchases to the method of payment used for the original transaction. In some cases, such as those where the original payment method cannot be refunded, we may provide the refund in the form of Battle.net Balance.

If the automated service doesn’t address your needs, our support team is available to help.

Refund Guidelines

Games and Expansions

We refund paid games or expansions within 14 days of purchase, as long as you haven’t played for more than two hours.

Get with the times man

I’m a die hard Mac user, and my solution was super simple. XBox. And it’s awesome.

Mac user here - and I still love my iMac but it was the final straw last year when I wanted to play "Stray " and couldn’t because they didn’t have Mac support. So I scraped together some money and bought a gaming laptop and I am so grateful that I did. I can play D4 now.

We might get a surprise announcement at WWDC tomorrow.

The better bet is CrossOver. They just announced DirectX12 support. D2 will be their first supported game. D4 could be next?

Barely functional support at that. I can’t fault Rommax for that given the circumstances he’s dealing with being the only platform dev dedicated to servicing macOS clients (alongside the Windows clients too!).

The really grand irony here? A couple of configuration flags during compile and it would be flagged as “side loadable” in macOS on M1 and newer Macs with ARM64 CPUs. That is literally the only thing keeping it off macOS’ modern machines since it can already be played on iOS machines. I’m not even kidding. It’s literally a couple of flags in the XCode compiler settings. See what I mean about “barely functional”?

Hi Everyone

Great news! D4 does actually run on MacOS thanks for the new Game Porting Toolkit released by Apple at the WWDC23 event this week.

Apple actually do care about gaming and have created an amazing tool to help developers get their games on this platform.

I’ve made another post with a little more info here:

Please comment something positive and help get Blizzard’s attention!

As a long time fan of Blizzard games and having originally played the first Diablo on a Mac back in the late 90s, I would very much welcome them porting it. It looks like Apple is finally trying to meet game developers halfway as well, whereas for the longest time it was a bit standoffish.

MAC? Where is the PC support?

Get a real computer!

In all seriousness, they don’t have good enough PC emulators to run a game like Diablo in 2023? I honestly don’t know, if I use a Mac it’s almost always work related.
