pvpers need to love and sign this post! I’m hearing and reading that fields of hatred as been to changed to “opt in” pvp. This is unacceptable and takes away from the fun of roaming and finding players to kill. Imagine walking through the fields of hatred and seeing many players but non are opted in?!
Please sign to revert this change and make fields of hatred great again. OPEN PVP!

Fields of hatred is targeted for endgame content so this whole “ganking newbies” is nonsense. Instead of insulting, we should be discussing possible solutions.
For example, I propose when entering this area, you are promoted with 2 options.
- Enter a full open pvp zone (instance) where monsters drop the materials to be converted and you can only see others who have opted in for this option.
or
- Enter a non pvp (pve only) instance where monsters do NOT drop this material but you can farm monsters in this zone like any other zone.
This is one possible solution I have thought about and will continue to brainstorm, but as it stands if you are only flagged for pvp when trying to convert then those specific spots will be camped.

It should stay open pvp.
Those people crying for “opt in” are those players I farm ears off of in public cs/ baal runs.
They should quit crying and l2p.
If they get an opt in option I want to opt in on them in public fields and farm them. I want those ears. Best ears are PvE player ears. If you can’t handle pvp then stay out of the zone and do your PvE low skill stuff.

Yeah, definitely needs to be open PVP. Opt-in systems always just lead to a failed PVP system. It’s just a zone; why cater absolutely everything to anti-PVPers.

Diablo was never meant to be a PvE game in the first place.
I can’t understand how this happend.
Even the D2 devs had no PvE endgame for that game and we all know the true players were in Act 1 right outside.
Some PvE players will argue that ubers and baal runs are endgame, but ubers were needed to get items and PvP. And Baalruns just to hit 90+. The only reason ubers existed so I can sell that crap to PvE players and buy myself good gear for pvp. Well and I needed atleast my own torch too, so there is that.
Make ARPGs great again. We need a pvp realm where only cities and group members/ clan members are not hostile.

Nothing was ‘changed’ - it was always designed that way. Converting Seeds of Hatred into Red Dust will auto flag you for PvP, but it was always the intent that players not interested in PvP’ing could pass through unmolested.

I love pvp but I would like it to be opt in only. I dont need to stroke my ego by killing some poor sap that is just trying to explore and do quests. Now if these area was queued as a battleground, aka you enter and it says if you stay in here for 1 minute you are going to be entering an arena or something, sure - love it.
Again, I love pvp but I understand that many people dont care for it and it would only piss them off if they died in a zone that they had to cross

It sounds like Fields of Hatred are areas within each zone, so it should be opt in. If they want open PvP they should make a separate zone where people can fight to their hearts content and PvE players can ignore it.
