Is powerlevel a thing in d4?

I find leveling up quite boring, tedious and a chore. Something to go through before having fun…

So, I was wondering whether powerleveling is available. I love that in D3.

I’d like an option to start season with my eternal character so I cantinue playing it in new season, but that is not going to happen…
(Imported chars should be excluded from the “being first with something in the season” competition).

yes. you can be powerleveled very quickly and after you hit 50 and get your glyphs you can be taken to aoz t14 and get all glyphs for your build to max instantly. takes about 1 hr for 1-60 if the person carrying you is any good. can be done even quicker if you use the new elixir from level 1

No. Not like D3. Takes hours not minutes.

Do legion events when you can.

I tried self power leveling my second account once using 2 different computers. Picking up gear was annoying af. Once I skipped the gear and just did dungeon resetting, I got to 50 wicked fast. Like someone said above, it’s not as fast as D3 power leveling but it took me like an hour 15 to get to 60. Would’ve been faster but I tooled around in the blood harvest for a bit to get keys and moving characters from 2 different computers is a pain.

As in 75 minutes to level 60? Wow, impressive!

Wow who would of thought that moving two different characters on two different computers in the same dungeon and swapping between the two wouldn’t be a pain right from the onset

Once upon a time…
This was the Solution:

1.1.0a (All Platforms) Build #43333 (PC) and #43223 (Console) - July 18, 2023

World Tier IV Example:

If the player’s Level is below 75, the monster’s Level is 75.
If the player’s Level is 76-80, the monster Level is 75.
If the player’s Level is 81, the monster’s Level is 76.
If the player’s Level is 82, the monster’s Level is 77, etc. (from this point the monsters will always be -5).

Experience

Reward experience for completing Whispers in World Tiers III and IV has been significantly increased.

Developer’s Note: We have observed that the experience bonus rewarded for killing higher level monsters escalates too fast when compared to the relative challenge involved. **We still want to reward players for taking on this challenge by encouraging them to participate in powerleveling together instead of one player killing enemies while another member of their Party waits at the dungeon’s entrance.**

We are adjusting bonus experience rewards for killing monsters that are a higher Level than the player.
    Pre-Season of the Malignant bonuses:
        1 Level higher: +15%.
        2 Levels higher: +20%.
        3+ Levels higher: +25%.
    Post-Season of the Malignant:
1.5% bonus per Level up to 10 Levels.
            Ex:
                +1 level: +1.5%.
                +2 levels: +3%.
                +10 levels: +15%.
We are also adjusting experience rewards for monster Level offsets for higher World Tiers.
    Current World Tier Level offsets
World Tier II: Up to +3.
World Tier III: Up to +10.
World Tier IV: Up to +100.
    We are changing this to
World Tier II: Up to +3 (Unchanged).
World Tier III: Up to +6.
World Tier IV: Up to +10.
    For Example:
You are Level 1. Your friends bring you to World Tier IV and leave you at the entrance of a dungeon. They start killing Level 100 monsters.
Prior to Season of the Malignant, you get:
                (Level 100 Monster XP) * (1 + 25%)
After Season of the Malignant, you get:
                (Level 11 Monster XP) * (1 + 15%)

to reiterate…

Developer’s Note: *We have observed that the experience bonus rewarded for killing higher level monsters escalates too fast when compared to the relative challenge involved. We still want to reward players for taking on this challenge by encouraging them to participate in powerleveling together instead of one player killing enemies while another member of their Party waits at the dungeon’s entrance.

It’s comical what gets or was fixated upon as the “ultimate evil” or “the problem”…
Look where we are today.
Jinkies.

I didn’t say I didn’t know it would be, I just said it is. LOL.

The thing with D3 was that once you were level 70, there was really a lot of stuff to do.

The current version of D4 does not have that much to do after you hit 100, so why do you want to get there so quickly? Getting to 100 is the only real accomplishment anyone has in this game and you want to bypass it?

What’s the rush? I can understand if you are in HC and you just suffered a death, but in SC? Getting a hand to get your first sacred then ancenstral gear is nice, but the entire ride?

What fun?

Just Power Level in the cosmetics store. That is the end game.

D3 single player was just a formality. Leveling in D4 is an actual big deal.

So jammur, the power level that matters is level 60. That’s the lowest level you can be to wear ancestrals / royal gems (top end of the gear spectrum).

I actually have a druid i dont level so i can collected good gear that is level 60. I have a starry skies for level 60 and most of the regular druid uniques between 60 to 70.

This lets me play through 100 and feel like i am having some progression while getting more matts.

D3 at level 70 had what? Bounties and grifts. Maybe hellfires?

D4 at level 60 has whispers, helltides, nms, and duriel runs.

Seems much more similar than you think.

Nah, its a time thing. it literally took 5 minutes in D3 to get max lvl. D4 has a zillion times better leveling experience. it just takes 10000x longer lol.

D3 took, 3.9 grifts to level to 70. Usually, I’d go through almost 4 grifts and then needed to just mill around in another area for less than half a bubble of exp. (might have been 2.9) But I remember it was just shy of getting to 70. Granted I haven’t had to speed level a character in D3 since shortly after necro was released. These took about 5 to 6 minutes, so maybe 20-30 minute time to 70?

Last time I power leveled, they limited things by torment level kind of like capstone limits. Unless they got rid of this, it took a few grifts to get to level 70.

For D4, it takes, 2 capstones, to get to about level 15-20, then 3 nms at 30 to get to about 50. Depending on the side events you need another 4 nmss to get to 60.

Most of the nms need to be fully cleared, so they are about 10 minutes each. So 75 minutes sounds about right. If you select S or A tier exp dungeons, may be less. Bad dungeons - more.

Before this patch / season, it look more like 2 and a half hours.

I remember original D3 when there was no power leveling, it took about 3.5 hours.

I had no idea this was a thing. What’s the point of playing at all then?

I guess depends on what you think playing is.

This is defined by each persons playstyle.

For me, I’m eternal, so I have absolutely no reason to play anything below 60. I would rather boost to 60 and then play from there onwards.

Now I could have someone boost me to level 100 and play from there onwards as well. but that takes a lot longer and it’s quite boring sitting around for those hours.

I’d rather just play through from 60 onwards.

With druids I have do, most are build dependent, so I have enjoyed the play from 60-100 on each one.

If there is a multiplayer game in which progress is measured in levels, you can be sure that powerlevelling is a thing.
You can have a higher level, better geared character run you through high level NMD. So long as you’ve got your Paragon board unlocked, you can work on getting your Glyphs to level 15 and do so much more quickly than you could on your own. The higher level can run you through various Bosses. It’s kind of boring, as the lower level just has to stand well out of the way and not get killed but you’ll get better drops than you could solo. And if you’re running open world, you’ll get credit for whatever the higher level does in terms of Tree of Whispers or Blood Hunt (I’m not sure how far way you can be and still get credit but your mate can always Res you if you get a bit too close to the action).

I mean 1-70 in a few hours doing tunnels

Ive seen 1-100 done in a few hours by streamers with decked out friends

I like how they will make it so you can level in an hour but god forbid you just don’t make us have to level.
