i have some questions about lightning bolt, cuz couldn’t find anywhere.

1- is Lightning Bolt storm skill? (if yes, does it have nature magic tag?)
2- does Lightning Bolt hit crit?
3- does Lightning Bolt hit overpower?
4- is Lightning Bolt direct hit?
5- does Lightning Bolt work with rabid bear aspect?

1-Read the tooltip of the skill, skills tags are listed on them ALWAYS! Both on PC and console versions.

2-Yes it’s instanced damage.

3-Yes it’s instaced damage.

good sir could you share Lightning Bolts tooltip screenshot to us? or anyone who wanna help share.

rabid bear, convert to poison dmg obviously.

pls Blizzard add tooltips for lightning bolts, dancing bolts, ice spikes, meteorites etc, pestilence swarm etc.

Oops… Sorry, I mixed up it up. In my language Lithning storm is tanslated like lighting bolt.

Your right that there isn’t a tooltip. Its the same for all those class specific things you mentioned.

Since its not a skill it probably doesnt have skilltags. So its just a direct damage source that presumably does lightning damage.
It can however be buffed by certain things like Charged Atmosphere (x30%), Runeworkers conduit (x40%) and aspects that don’t have “skill” in their description like Conceited and Exploiters. It should also benefit from +damage sources if appropriate, like +all damage or +crit damage when it crits.
Then there’s also the Glyph that bumps its damage by a lot.

It does crit, overpower and is direct damage.
Your last question is a nice one. According to the text of Rabid Bear it should convert to poison.

But be carefull, Rabid Bear will give you two types of poison: 1) Rabies skill wich is poison in the form of damage over time. 2) The aspect turns your direct damage into poison, but its still direct damage.
They are both named poison, but behave quite differently.
Poison in the form of a DOT builds up on the boss and can’t crit or overpower.
A jewel like tyrant’s bane will benefit from Rabies because its a DOT, but not poison in the form of direct damage.

If it turns out Rabid Bear is worded poorly and it converts all direct damage into poison in the form of a Dot, then let us know. That would be interesting.

Actualy my main goal is, tornado with conduit aspect also with tempest roar + grizzly rage.

Since lightning bolt is not a skill bestial rampage the only option. And also its legendary node options are heightened malice and ancestral guidance, may be pick lust for carnage for sustain.

So why it exist?

Not sure if this helps but, using the spirit boons, You can cause poison damage to spawn lightning bolts and lightning bolts to cause poison damage. But this would require heavy amounts of lucky hit chance keep in mind.

so in my testing;

  1. no.lightning bolt is not a Storm skill. so lightning bolt not working with storm skill buffs.
  2. yes. it does crit.
  3. no. ligtning bolt do not overpower dmg.
  4. no. lightning bolt is not a direct hit. better say conditional hit?
  5. no. it won’t work with rabid bear aspect. also lightning bolt doesn’t convert another dmg type.
  6. attack speed gives nothing to conduit aspect.
  7. conduit aspect procs 1 time only with one enemy for 1 skill. let me explain if u use tornado to 3 enemies, the aspect proc only first tornado hit then 1 lightning bolt hit 1 enemy, next second lightning bolt hit again. when same tornado hit another enemy it also cannot proc aspects. 2 tornados hits same enemy in miliseconds also procs with first hit second tornado just do tornado damage.

i can tell, do not make lightning bolt builts. it has one purpose only buff cataclysm. nothing more nothing less. if blizzard devs decide to delete lightning bolt it cannot affect anything.

also i can tell, it will only work when devs add 1 zero to last digit for conduit aspect and electrified claws aspect. or gives storm skill tag. and add something working with human form may be. i don’t know storm strike every chain proc linghtning bolts.

in season 9 and past seasons lightning bolts impact nothing. like pestilence swarms it does nothing just visiuals.

Yeah lightning bolt is back to a sideshow or something that is only used when leveling.

This is the issue with how they nerf things in this game. They added that cap to the buffing lightning bolt damage aspect, mainly so cataclysm is weaker, but didn’t do anything to increase lightning bolt on it’s own. Thus lightning bolt is now useless again.

I would like to see more buffs to lightning bolt, they can decreases it’s effectiveness on cataclysm, and make it so dancing bolts also count as lightning bolts, so they can receive those buffs.

How is lightning storm this season? I have been thinking about trying it, been a while quite a few seasons since I ran that.

it’s just ok… but like you said it’s more for leveling… with grizzly rage and natures fury… it’s fun and my favorite to play, wish it was better =)
