Is boosting against the rules?

If it is, then shouldn’t Elon Musk’s account get banned since he flat out admitted that he boosts his account? I assume he doesn’t get to break the rules just because…

No offence, but people need to let the Elon musk crap go. Thousands of people boost their accounts that’s how these sites make so much money. People are freaking out just because he happens to be the most prominent person doing it.

There are no rules against boosting. It’s been done by players since the game launched via variious mechanics (usually seasonal, though once infernal hordes were in that was used too). All that matters is that no real money is used to pay for said boosting. In-game items and gold can be freely traded for such, though with the rampant dupe issues occurring every season thus far trading is pretty dangerous in and of itself.

I dont care if I offend or not. The people that let Elon Musk live rent free in their head need to go touch grass and quite clogging up the forum with this nonsense.

That’s what I’m saying. Every single game forum I go to for D4 or POE2 I see the same thing spamming up the forums. I’ve even seen it on forums not related to either game.

‘Boosting’ defined as two accounts one helping the other, no.

Shared account usage, strictly against the terms of license. I suspect the laywers would say this is more due to like a password share issue impacting revenue just like Netflix cracking down on shared account use more than anything else.

However, and I mean this in all sincerity, look at what was tolerated last season. XP exploits, masterworking material exploits, duping exploits, gold in infernal hoards exploits. There are a lot of ‘shoulds’ that should happen in the game but don’t. Even right now in S7, I suspect boss material duping continues based upon the speed at which runs are being done endlessly on loops. There is no natural farming or even botting that can support this volume of materials, only stack duplications could keep up with the pace being consumed currently.

It’s easy outrage farming. In this day and age there live a lot of people with so miserable lifes that they have to go into forums to spam outrage topics only to see people seethe to make themselfs feel better for a minute.

Forums … when a popular new game releases are full with it. It’s a sad reality I really hate but it is what it is.

By my understanding, unpaid boosts like someone giving items and levelling others is not against the rules.

Paying/selling it as a service is.

I’m a little bit more worried about him being a fascist than him getting banned from D4 but you do you

No such rules in d4
But it does exist in poe

As far as i’m aware it is legit to character boost on hardcore, unless blizzard says otherwise. The hardcore ladder is probably full of people who paid for it.

I’d wager most gamers online have done something shady in the past, yet they clutching their pearls so hard over this.

Of course we all know the real reason they want to “get” him, space man bad because space man is friend of orange man and orange man bad so space man bad by default

I think they should just make it so anyone can pay for positions on the ladder. Noone cares about it anyway.

And thousands of people should be getting banned.

What an admirable culture.

What should be against the rules is thread staters trolls… that never come back…
They should be banned…
It’s like starting a fire and runaway from it…

Welcome to America circa [current year]. Although there are a lot of Europeans who comment on American politics too.

To be fair, we don’t know how many accounts were removed either during last season. We definitely know of multiple ban waves happening on a rather consistent basis, I’d say almost weekly judging by the amount of forum topics we got on the subject of people being banned.

I’m not saying they shouldn’t fix these problems ASAP, I’m just saying we don’t know the extent of what they did to accounts that did abuse this, and I personally don’t know anyone who used these practices, let alone got banned for them.
