Is boosting against the rules?

im sure elon would just buy diablo ip and unban himself if he could figure out the commands

Correct. That is what the Blizzard EULA and policies state. They also do not allow account sharing with the exception of one minor child the person is the legal guardian of. So, people can’t let others play their account to boost it.

No, not legit at all. If real money is exchanged then that is against the EULA.

  1. Prohibited Commercial Uses: Exploit, in its entirety or individual components, the Platform for any purpose not expressly authorized by Blizzard, including, without limitation (i) playing the Game(s) at commercial establishments (subject to Section 1.B.v.3.); (ii) gathering in-game currency, items, or resources for sale outside of the Platform or the Game(s); (iii) performing in-game services including, without limitation, account boosting or power-leveling, in exchange for payment; (iv) communicating or facilitating (by text, live audio communications, or otherwise) any commercial advertisement, solicitation or offer through or within the Platform; or (v) organizing, promoting, facilitating, or participating in any event involving wagering on the outcome, or any other aspect of, Blizzard’s Games, whether or not such conduct constitutes gambling under the laws of any applicable jurisdiction, without authorization.

What Blizzard can PROVE with their data and do about it is a totally different topic though.

Yeah, no. No I have not. That takes away all the fun of actually PLAYING a game. Cheating means I don’t actually enjoy what I paid for. Why skip things… makes no sense. I also don’t have an ego about my game prowess though nor do I care about leaderboards. Never have.

I like the ones that express utter disdain for Elon Musk yet drive around in a Tesla. I have neighbors like that.

Same here LOL… they hate on our President as well as Elon Musk… but drive Teslas.

You can’t make this stuff up.

Because when they bought the Tesla they didn’t know Ego Mush would turn out to be a fascist brown shirt

Whatever these companies’ stances on boosting is, the reason people keep bringing up Elon is because they want to know that rules are applied to everyone regardless of social status.

when he refers to boosting he is talking about paying someone else to play the account for him to level it up. that is against the tos and eula.

And if it’s ingame currency, ie gold? Is that also against the EULA?

You are talking about one of the richest, man on the planet.
messing with him is suicide…
have you ever fought with and autistic before?

NO. that is in game trade

Indeed!
Try to tell him to remove the turning lights switches from it’s car steering wheels… Just try…
He’s reinventing the wheel and he thinks the wheel is better square…

Do not make me laugh like that, man!
I just ate my lunch…I don’t want an indigestion!!!

No, that is not against the rules. You can trade in-game gold or items for help with in-game activities.

However, you can’t BUY that currency or those items with real money then use them to get in-game services.

Amusing to watch the WoW folks get banned over it. The folks doing carries for gold have a tendency to get banned because they get dirty gold. Bliz has gone after the pass through accounts there too.

I don’t know what they will do with D4 though. The game logging in Diablo games was always snapshot saves, not second by second. I don’t know if that changed with D4. Without saved logs of everything for every char, it is hard to trace illicit currency trades.

That’s account sharing, not boosting.

I boosted a lot of people for duriel back in season 4.

I don’t see how that would be against any rules

In a perfect world yes, he broke TOS then openly and publicly admitted to it. If Blizzard had any integrity they would ban him for life like they would do to any other user. However, because he has money and brings lots of attention to their product they are going to look the other way.

Seems an emotive topic with plenty of reaction. Maybe the questions about boosting or maybe it’s about Elon… not sure which to answer to.

Not seeing anyone notice your account is fresh without an intro… did you want to say a few words for readers to get an idea where your account without any prior community engagement invested in it is coming from? Might help the community address what’s on your mind.
