Yeah too much carrot. Not enough catching the carrot.

The higher ones take a looooong time. It’s like going on a mini-raid. Not sure there is any reward worth that much of your time as the game currently stands, lol.

Well there is a chance for Crown of Lucion, which will let you break the game, so what more reward do you need? /s

Fun. Fun would be nice.

It just needs a little bit of tweaking really.

Such as:

  • Increase the spawn rate of enemies, I shouldn’t have to wait around for 5 seconds doing nothing after everything is instantly dead after spawn
  • Remove all of the options that don’t give you additional Aether, like the movement speed buff, nobody is going to use it; it’s trash
  • Create ‘paths’ using the powers (i’ll explain below)
  • Have more powers that apply to the bosses
  • Drastically increase the drop rate of Aether

Paths

When the powers spawn, you get 3 from a list of about 10 different powers.
Some of those powers scale up when used multiple times, some powers have more than 1 upgrade option.
Change this so that when you choose your first option, all of the remaining options are based on that option, and the same for each additional option culminating in a final boss option.

For instance:
Round 1:
Spawn a mass on wave start
+1 Mass Aether drops

Round 2:
An additional mass is spawned on wave start
Mass Aether drops are doubled

  • Masses spawn elites on death
  • Masses spawn hellborne on death
  • Masses spawn an Aether lord

Round 3 (Elites):
An additional mass is spawned on wave start
Mass Aether drops are doubled

  • Elites are unstoppable
  • Twice as many elites spawn
  • Hellborne now spawn alongside elites

Round 3 (Hellborne):
An additional mass is spawned on wave start
Mass Aether drops are doubled

  • Hellborne are unstoppable
  • Twice as many Hellborne spawn
  • An Author lord now spawns alongside elites

Round 3 (Aethor lord):
An additional mass is spawned on wave start
Mass Aether drops are doubled

  • Aethor lords are unstoppable
  • +1 Aethor lord spawn
  • On death, Author lord spawns hellborne and a pack of elites

and so on… until the last Round, you’d get something like this:

Elite path: An additional boss spawns for every 50 elites killed
Hellborne path: An additional boss spawns for every 25 hellborne killed
Author lord path: An additional boss spawns for every 5 Aethor lord killed

  • Note: I think there’s only 5 different bosses, so this wouldn’t be too crazy

Or something like this:
+100 Aethor after clearing boss room

  • Burning Butcher is in the boss room
  • Burning Andariel is in the boss room
  • Burning Duriel is in the boss room

The idea would be that your chosen path, whatever it is becomes the focus of that entire run.

If you choose faster event spawns, then you’ll end up having 4 events up permanently on the last round(s).

If you choose spires, then spires will always be up and pulling in enemies, and when they reach 0 health they’ll spit out Aether and returns to 100% health etc…

The goal would be to collect at least 500-1000 Aether from this kind of scaling and difficulty too.
