I didn't purchase

I didn’t feel any hype

To those who bought, do you recommend? I didn’t play much after launch and I tried season 4 but it didn’t keep me interested.

Has there been any meaningful changes?

Let me know!

Haven’t bought it. I learned from my D4 preorder. And it seems like it was the right decision.

Will wait for some addons and maybe then. But really don’t know.

Get it on sale if anything, dark citadel is the only thing your really missing.

I suspect if you did not purchase you have negative feelings about the game in general, and any changes, even changes that make the game better and more interesting, will not effect your negative feelings. If true than you should leave the game and leave the forum and find a game you do like.

Personally I really like the game and the changes and would recommend it to people who enjoy Diablo.

Also didn´t buy, but if you didn´t like it before you would not like it now.

It same like before, just slower (according to players) and with more content.

I will probably get this xpac when its on a free sale on the playstation store in a year or 2 or if they fix the mount speed.

I have watched my buddies play and it looks like it has some fun, i mean they are having fun playing trying to get me to play but its not ready for me to play yet

Don’t assume. Don’t tell players what to do lol

Personally I am more invested in this franchise and would recommend people to save their time and money for something better

So you ask for a recommendation, which I gave you, which you reject, and than you say “Don’t tell players what to do” and than you tell people “to save their time and money for something better” which is telling them what to do (about an expansion you haven’t played…).

Did you start this just so you could troll people?

It’s fun. Also most of the rejects in here need more to join their little campfire outside to justify not playing. Don’t listen to the bottomless trash bins and come to the dark side

I’ll just say off the bat, if the changes from S4 didn’t keep your interest, I’m not entirely sure the expansion will either. It’s more of the same with added endgame content. If you’d like a brief rundown of some of the changes you can read about them in the posts below.

Significant changes to base game. I say log in and try the season without the expansion. If you find yourself having fun, then it might be worth buying the expansion.

I wouldn’t recommend spending any money on D4 if you can get it with WoW tokens its worth it but its not worth any real money.

It really is more of the same, so if you didn’t like the base game I wouldn’t recommend it (certainly not at full price)

Then again, if money isn’t an issue and you have nothing else to do, then by all means try it.

Note: I liked S5 and have now finished VoH campaign. I’m mostly disappointed. Spiritborn class is nice, but everything else is meh or worse IMHO

Don’t listen to the guy telling you to leave the forums. You have the base game and it’s your right to come here and ask questions about the state of the game and whether or not it’s worth it.

I’m also in your shoes and I can see it’s just not ready for me yet. I pre purchased the mid priced edition of the base and got hit hard with disappointment. I vowed since then not to buy the expansion unless it was on sale for $15 (to make up for the extra I spent on the base game launch). I also purchased zero MTX or BP.

I advise you to save your money right now. There seem to be so many broken things on this DLC release and a disappointing campaign. I would spend my time doing other things than suffering through their iterations of upcoming changes. We need stability before we can come back to this game.

It’s not bad.

Gear goalposts are the same, but it’s harder to get close to them now, and the curve is different.
Paragon is more focused, which I like.
Nightmare dungeons are technically useful again but glyph leveling is all about the pit, so if you weren’t a fan before prepare to feel the same way.
Mercenaries are okay but desperately lack a unified interface and are just kind of clunky to use, and don’t feel like they have much effect.
Lots of new ways to get gear (bartering, blacksmith cache, undercity) that pretty much feel like different exercises in futility, just like every other source.
Obol vendor may be a bit better again, as far as I can tell.
Haven’t done hordes yet myself, they sound a bit wonky and nerfed in rewards.
Materials grind on seasonal sounds awful.

If you weren’t enthused with 1.4-1.5, I’d give it a bit for the edges to get smoothed out. Otherwise it’s more of the same with some steps back, and a couple steps sideways.

EDIT: Oh yeah and there’s that 2-4 player co-op dungeon I couldn’t be less interested in.

They dont buy the expansion and come on the forums to announce it.

What kind of twisted energy is this?

You asked for advice and he gave it. Does that offend you?

Based on how thin this expansion sounds. I think I could wait for all the expacs to come out, then buy them all as a package together on the cheap and, as long as I can suppress my FOMO long enough, not miss out on much of anything.

I would not recommend the game to anyone in its current broken state. Hopefully the game is doing better next season.

At the moment though its a 50/50 chance you will encounter one of the many current game breaking technical issues or bugs - and even if you dodge these bullets you’ll still have to contend with broken main and seasonal mechanics.

Its just a gamble for your money right now on whether you’ll be able even play without one of these issues.

If you are seasonal and want to play spiritborn, go for it.

If you are eternal or dont want to play spiritborn…might want to wait.
