To be fair, they are separate teams, the one that handles the cosmetics and microtransactions, and the one that develops the game, systems, etc.
In my opinion, I have no issue with the cosmetics shops, or anything they sell there, some of the sets are actually cool.
The issue comes down to the fact that we only see the cosmetics team delivering content in the game, the actual developers on the other hand, not so much.
And therein lies the problem, they don’t want to make a good game.
I doubt they don’t have the skills, money or time to do that.
There are a ton of ways they can get insight into what a good ARPG is, both internally from their own experience, and externally from every other game in the genre that has come out in the past 15+ years.
But they don’t want to, it’s the minimum amount of effort, no fun allowed, get you to keep playing as much as possible so they can hopefully sell you something in the cash shop.
I took a break from Diablo 4, and I have to say, man, that feels good.
The game is out , has been for more than 2 months, it’s too late to put it back in the oven, but they have around 10 months left, until it celebrates one year from release, to show that it has grown, it has changed, and it has become a good game, worth playing.
However, we shouldn’t completely give up on the game, as long as we still care or want to care about the game, we should keep posting here, and give our honest feedback, solutions to ingame problems, ideas for what we want to see in the game, upvote the ideas we like, support each other.
