Even if every nerf was somehow called for, which is wasn’t, not providing any meaningful buffs or changes or improvements to the game is extremely poor decision making. They literally gave the players NOTHING to be excited about, and only things to complain about.
Progress is reversed.
Social ignored.
QoL ignored.
Class balancing ignored.
Buffing underperforming skills ignored.
Nerfing meta skills across the board.
XP nerf.
No reduction in enchanting costs or respec.
No improvements to underperforming classes.
Buffed drops in NMD but nerfed drops in open world.
Nerfed Helltides.
Buffed Tree of Whispers
Nerfed Skills
Nerfed Stats
Nerfed affixes
Nerfed CDR
Nerfed DR
Nerfed Armor
I have been playing Diablo 2/3 for last 23 years and was holding out that this patch would be at least a token improvement for a troubled release. But this is probably the worst patch and worst direction I have seen out of any of the various titles.
Honestly, I feel like there needs to be some accountability here, because the current game trajectory is not in the right direction. I know if I pissed off my clients this much, I would be looking for a new job.

- The channel time for the Leave Dungeon ability has been increased from 3 to 5 seconds.
Game is fixed this was the only issue the game had.

No. You’re forgetting about the lack of loading screens. They fixed this as well.

And they were even kind enough to massively increase loading times too, with no changes on the client’s end to cause it. So thoughtful of them.

this is great, because I actually needed 2 extra seconds to empty my poopsock whenever leaving a dungeon. exactly 2 seconds, no more, no less
blizzard knows their audience!

Well. This was a big decision. If I worked as hard as they did by adding more loading screens I’d want you to sit there and look at them longer as well.

Poop…sock? I… Well… That one’s new to me lol
i was scared to even bring it up… lol
You’re spot on. There needs to be accountability for this.
Even if all the primary stats, vulnerable, crit damage, etc. were too powerful, there were better ways to go about balancing them, than nerfing gear that players have spent hundreds of millions in gold to re-roll.
I’ve never felt so robbed of my time as I have with this patch. Absolutely no consideration was made to players who were just ebbing and flowing with what was given to us.

oldschool gaming stuff, bro. back when you couldn’t get up from your 8 hour EQ1 raid so you had yourself a poopsock and an empty bottle of gatorade for when you needed to “do the business” yaknow?
(this is not me being entirely serious, the concept of poopsocking is a very real thing but holy heck it’s super gross)

I agree with you 100%, I’ve ran out of likes but there are some good takes out there today, Blizz really screwed the pooch.

Crazy, people are really doing this? Geez ^^ Those people need to seriously touch some grass
I’m impressed you could defend them to begin with.
That was a typo. They meant channel time for our players to uninstall this hot piece of diarrhea increased from 10 seconds to instantaneous.
Yep stirring up a lot of drama draws curious people to the forms which could lead to more sales. No diffrent then see a crowd gathered on the street. One might go and see whats going on.
I know the poop knife but not the poop sock.
As far as I know the poop knife was used by this girls family (reddit user) they always had to cut the poop in the toilet before flushing so it will go down smoothly. They had a poop knife. She thought its normal to have a poop knife and asked her friends where their poop knife is.
But not sure if the story is correct. Google reddit poop knife.
the only thing they got right in this patch was the ability to make people quit faster.

I was hoping for more rubber banding. It really shows off how nimble my character is.

To be fair you didn’t defend them often at all.
I have defended Blizz and devs for years. I give credit where it is due. I stated in a recent post, I was standing by them. D2 got better. D3 got better. You could see progress and nerfs were targeted to game breaking issues and always came with some buff.
This patch collectively is a detriment to the company, the community and the game itself. I suspect the GM is too busy with all the Diablo titles to know what his devs are actually doing. Fireside chat you could see he was short on details. You could also see who the nerf hammer dev is as well. He must have said overpowered multiple times.
In my business, if the Director and his PMs are failing in understanding their client and continually not listening to the client and instead think they know how it should be, they are looking for a new job in short order.
I saw calls for removing vulnerable or nerfing it and that is fine. Nerfing things that don’t balance the game is fine and necessary. This patch and all the nerfs were not necessary without giving something back. Additionally, if all your testing pre launch didn’t clue you in to all these issues, someone isn’t doing their job.
It’s been said many times. They have zero excuses for repeating mistakes they made with previous Diablo titles. Again, someone not knowing the franchise history, in company communication is missing and oversight has failed. Some of the things we are seeing are simply indefensible.
