Even at the lowest possible settings with hi-res textures disabled, I get severe frame drops, if I crank all settings up to high there isn’t much of a difference. Whenever I move to a new area and there are a lot of enemies the fps just craters, occasionally the game almost completely freezes up and the audio cuts out. Traveling on a horse is so stuttery it’s better to just walk.
The problem existed in the base game more or less throughout, it has gotten worse with vessel of hatred.
RAM use for the game often goes up to 7-8 GB. Diablo 4 uses 3.8GB as i’m typing this in another window. Turning off all other background apps doesn’t really help much either.
I’ve tried capping the fps at 70, doesn’t help. Vsync on or off doesn’t change anything.
My specs:
INTEL i5 12400 F
16GB RAM
Windows 10
NVIDIA RTX 2060 GPU

What resolution are you trying to run at?
When monitoring your memory usage, check your committed memory area. See if that is maxing out or getting near Max.
1920x1080
The commited memory for Diablo 4 that I’m seeing is 15GB

And how much do you have left over? Is it at or near full? With regard to your committed amount?
I have 16GB RAM, and the commited memory for Diablo 4 is around 15GB. It’s at 2.6-3GB on task manager on idle.

I’m not sure if we’re speaking the same language.
When you are looking at the bottom below the performance stats of the memory, you should see a section that says committed. What is the total value in use for committed and what’s the total value of committed as a maximum? If those two numbers are close together then you have a problem.
okay, for Diablo 4 on resource monitor I see the commit column as 15GB, the working set is 2.8GB, sharable is .6GB, private is 2.2GB
on task manager I just see 80% memory usage and the column for Diablo 4 is 2.8GB
I’m on Windows 10 and that’s all I see on task manager and resource monitor
If you hit Ctrl-R twice, within the game, it will show your latency. How high is it? Mine is over 1000 (1 second), and the game is unplayable for me. No clue why, as I have tried everything to get that down. The game before VoH, played just fine (and it played fine on launch day)

My latency is usually a little under 300ms but stable, which is around what I get in WoW. WoW runs at this latency without ay problems, and so did Diablo 4. I don’t think fps drops is a latency issue. It really feels like it’s a memory problem since things get a lot worse if I have a video playing in the background on Chrome. When I exit Chrome the latency drops to under 160ms but stuttering remains if I start walking into new zones with a lot of enemies.
As a comparison, mine floats between 60-100ms, and that’s on Starlink.
If I use my DSL internet, it will float between 70-100ms there. But its far less likely to have spikes on that internet as it can Starlink.
did you find any fix? im having the same issue, it was okay on launch and its been fine for the last 4 seasons (i had a similar smaller scale issue in season 1) but now its completely unplayable and my whole computer starts lagging

no fix yet. It’s not unplayable for me but the performance is very bad with constant stutters and fps drops whenever there’s a lot of enemies or npcs in a new area

I’m having the same problem and I just made a thread on it. I hope we find a solution! I have well above the minimum specs and I experience the same lag and rubberbanding and general annoyance with everything I do in the game

yeah mine was fine at launch, now its terrible. my entire system slows down and D4 seems to be using ALOT of memory.

My CPU usage is at about 38%. My Memory usage is at about 84%. My GPU usage is fine. I have no idea what’s causing it. My latency is about 100 ms, and sometimes shoots up for unknown reasons, but it stays around 100ms in town. It just lags when you try to move around randomly, and it always has a feel that it’s caused by server issues, not the PC.
I’ve always had these problems with games I like to play :x
LOL
I just always have bad luck when playing games. Something is always making the experience lackluster. I personally think it’s Blizzard’s server issues causing these lag spikes and problems. They don’t have good connection from places that are far out for a game that is always online and has server connectivity issues. I live in the Midwest, so I bet I’m far from the Blizzard servers, and I just experience lag even though my computer is far above the minimum specs. Even turning everything to high settings makes no difference, so it’s not my PC. It’s just Blizzard servers. LMAO!

No one has a solution? Lmao! No one can even come up with a potential bottleneck? LOL! The game is crap and you need to fix it. Screw Blizzard. LOL!

Another round of hotfixes and still no word from the devs on the issue even being on their radar.

I am having the same issues. After the Vessel of Hatred update the game is unplayable

I think I am having the same issue. No fixes have worked for me. Happens no matter what resolution/settings I use. RTX 2070 Super.
Only happens with D4. No other program or game has any kind of lag.
