How many of you who took part in PTR

I got on the other day to dump all my boss mats. Got 3 GA shako and crit CDR twice. While it is very tempting to keep resetting for 3 I don’t care to gamble. That kept me playing for awhile though.

Have been helping friends a bit too given I’m still leaning towards not getting xpac. Most of my gaming time has been spent elsewhere.

I didn’t go back but honestly it had nothing to do with the PTR. I was just bored and wanted to do honor mode in Baldur’s Gate 3 now that patch 7 dropped. If there is time, I’ll probably hop back on D4 so I can finish leveling up my Necro. I have no reason to do this since I finished the season journey and battle pass other than not having a level 100 Necro to date. Only classes I have at 100 are Barbarian, Druid, and Sorcerer. Still need to get a Necro and Rogue to max level. Honestly, I’ll probably wait on the Rogue until I can make a spin to win build.

When you play season do you not set some goals for yourself, like completing the season journey, masterworking gear to some level, killing a particular boss etc? Then, there is your reason. If your only goal is to add to your wealth and treasure hoard in eternal, then I’m sorry, Blizzard has effd you. If you are bored with the gameplay, then just play for as much as you are having fun in a particular session. There is nothing wrong with doing a couple helltides or hordes and calling it a day after an hour. Cheer up!

Because these games aren’t designed to keep you playing forever.

The PTR for S6 is much better because I can kill the Tormented Boss for my frozen orb sorcerer build in T3 whereas Tormented Boss in S5 is much stronger.

it’s still fun to play ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’ with Helltides mobs using a low-level character. chasing around trees and hiding behind rocks is more amusing than casting 3 lightning spears and wiping the whole screen clean.

If the game was really fun and healthy I would have played the PTR. But you can’t play something that doesn’t give you any pleasure.

I started a new character because I wanted to enjoy fully twinking out and having all the urns going right from the start. Went into the cathedral of light at level 17, which I’d never tried before.

It’s because at the start of the season you had a fun goal that was fresh and new. New builds to try. A new challenge or two to overcome with the build(s).

Then you flashed forward to the future (PTR) and somewhere along the way it was sort of rubbed in your face that your upward trajectory is somewhat useless when you come back to live.

We are all on a hamster wheel. It’s just a shinier, newer one that needs new pacing, coordination and balance at the start of each season—so it makes it exciting again.

All you can do to get your interest back is keep peeking in the box of the new wheel and plan for it by trying other chars that might interest you and learning their mechanics. Or, practicing a new build you might play—even if it hasn’t been buffed yet. See if you like the flow and feel. Try some combos and synergies of your own design. Who knows, maybe you will come up with a build the guide-makers haven’t yet. Look ahead, because you can’t go back in a game like this.

Self loathing…problem OP?

still trying to figure out a bleed barb (not Flay or Rend) out of pure copium. also enjoying the last few weeks of realistically having regular GA items.

PTR plays only maniac without job and streamers.

Enjoyed S4.
Was enjoying S5 and looking forward to purchasing the expac.

Then PTR dropped and I tired it.

Now I just can’t find the motivation to do anything in D4.

Looking for other games instead at this point as it doesn’t look like they will quit flip flopping on what they want the game to be for years to come.

Until they figure that out there is no point in investing further finances with them.

They dropped the max to 30 in the ptr. It still works fine esp. with FO/LS hybrid by Lurkin

It’s D2R HC strafazon time for me.
So free of drama.
Just level 37 and I’m having fun from the start. No need for “endgame” bs.

I just stopped playing after a couple weeks like normal

Back in S3, I lost motivation because the pet system was too boring. AoZ towards the latter half of S2 left a bad taste to me even though S2 itself was great.

S3 lack the character that we got from S2.

If you enjoy playing multiple classes and like throwing sh*t at the wall to see what sticks, there’s plenty of content to keep you busy. But I think that’s probably a small minority—most people seem to have wrapped up for the season. That said, compared to this time last season, the trade chat does feel more active.

You know the season is over when you see massive number of players offering free help, free carry on, free tormented boss runs and free gear in trade chat.

I tried to get back into the Pit after PTR, but meh, the changes on ptr were made for a reason
