How is Hardcore different?

Outside of die=game over, is anything different?

Technically/functionally there are the exclusive death evasion potion and scroll of escape items. Everything else is the same.

Gameplay style / psychologically it’s a totally different (much better) game. Read through this thread if you want detailed insight.

Wow. Thank you for posting that thread. Got put into perfect perspective and am starting my first hardcore toon when I get home.

I’m actually excited to explore HC builds and where I sacrifice offense for defense.

By the way, are resists actually working properly on gear?

They work properly, as designed at least. But were designed badly and will be redone. For now it’s okay to get some resists (they’re not a bad thing) but they’re not worth it as a priority over anything else since the benefit is rather little.

Good luck!

Your build doesn’t matter bro. You will be killed by the rubber band DC again and again until you finally quit.

Agreed, but there are people 100 lvls, the greatest achievements is that they have great networks, patience and lucks

I have been playing since launch and I have never been disconnected once, and rarely have lag… sure there are “rubber band” times but it has never got me killed. Maybe I am lucky?

I’m consistent 600mbps download with 40+ Upload and rarely any loss. I guess I am lucky for the connection… everyone seems to always blame Blizzard, but I have not seen even a 1/50th of the issues I see people complaining about when it comes to lag/disconnects… /shrug - It’s not Blizzards fault ppl have bad connections IMHO, though of course it would be impossible for an infrastructure enduring this many players to always be 100% stable.

So which is it? Were going to rubberband? Or you have good internet youre okay?

Or are the rubber banding people have garbage connection

since you don’t know the difference and the actual technology that impacts each, Ill just move along and let you be all angry. Cyas

Youre the one thats mad. I get 0 lag, dcs and rubberbanding.

The level 100s got an unfair advantage, right?

The thrill ma man, the thrill.

Also the way you play changes, that is, if you wish to live.

Every level is significant, every piece of gear always fully upgraded, every fight is your last, every trash mob deserves respect, you thread lightly, and you then look at the game from a totally different lens.

I believe that brings more value to game, the fact that it will give you the same game with 2 different approaches, it’s almost two games within one.

I have a level 52 HC, still alive and whenever I’m bored I go and play my HC character, then I leave it be and go play SC again. Try it out

You treasure your life (in game life) more.
