How can respecing survive multiple patchs and balances?

Blizzard insists in this politics of charging gold for reset the skill tree (wich in my opinion is just sad and annoying) but how can this work out if we can face a nerf/buff here and there that will constantly make us want switch our builds regularly? Not mention the seasons that will pretty much change the whole game. And the gold cost for respecing gets higher and higher… i mean, will you give us free respecs each patch? how can we have fun testing builds and playing what we want knowing that EVENTUALLY ill have to toss my character away and start a new one…

Charging for respec in a game full of theorycrafting seems to only hurt, and no…doesnet make my decisions “matter” because my decision is based on things that changes all the time.

You will make new chars frequently enough. I dont see its going to matter much in the long run.

Its not a wow character you endlessly build and tinker on, you can finish them.

If you have trouble making gold in Diablo 4, then you’re doing something wrong!

The game should give a free respec with each patch, so you can change things if they are nerfed/buffed.
Respecs outside of that should be very costly/limited.

Blizzard alreay said that eventually if you respec enought you will have to make another character. Thats already stated.

The thing is that Blizzard also is the one responsible for creating the situation that will force us to respec, and that will happen A LOT because of: patchs, rebalance, seasons…

Even if a choose a build/style of play i will have to respec constantly.

After which they clarified that this was not the case, and the first statement had just been misunderstood.

Blizzard have also said that respecing single skills will be affordable.

If you play seasons you will be releveling with most patches anyway.

There have already been multiple people telling you that respeccing is not prohibitively expensive. Don’t want your build nerfed? Don’t play an obviously OP build.

So, will my main character survive to multiples respecing through the years i pretend to play this game? will i ALWAYS be able to respec? affordable respec?

You will make enough gold to respec whenever you feel like it (as in when you have a new set of gear and want to try new build etc), not every 10min like in D3. :beers:

As long i can keep playing on my main through the whole lifespan of the game, im fine. Thank you for the answer.

If they follow the philosophy of past games, they won’t patch during the season. Likely a big reason leaderboards aren’t introduced for several seasons is to give time for the game to mature where balance patches can become less common.

Especially this preseason period, expect a lot of balance changes.

Seems perfectly reasonable to expect free respecs with every major patch/season update. And probably quite likely.

Regardless, I doubt respect costs will be too prohibitive given the scale of these games and amount of gold you can earn/make.

How badly would somebody be screwing up their character to have to keep respeccing the whole thing though? This game isn’t designed for your single character of each class to be able to be everything. You need to think about decisions you’re making with it.

Patches will not be as frequent, that you can’t accumulate enough gold to respec occasionaly.

ideally theyll be good at balance and stay away from mid-season changes/balance-passes.

but realistically its gonna be a mess lol

over on poe they are careful about that and only make mid-league moves if its really a crazy situation.

Since you’re clearly learning English, be sure to check out the phrase “We will cross that bridge when we get to it.”

It means don’t be concerned about problems that don’t yet exist.

I mean if you’re pretending to play the game then it really doesn’t matter.

its not about screwing up, its about having fun too. Once im tired playing a build and want try something new. Testing new skill synergies “hydra here, blizzard there, and what if this skill1 and this skill2?” You see? … you cant just expect we make lasting decisions in a everchanging game.

Changing is also part of the fun.
