Think about it. How were they able to have a fix so quickly if that wasn’t already part of the plan? Takes 2 season to fix everything else…

I have a general theory about that.
I think unique items and aspects are probably set aside somewhere in the game code so it can be easily accessed for things exactly like this. At some point they will introduce more items and aspects, and by having them easily accessible they can target them to do emergency changes to them in case there ends up being some sort of unintended effect.
Edgemaster’s being turned off, or the recent Blood Lance changes, for example. Those were pretty quickly messed with once a problem was exposed.

Well my majority says “who cares” it was only 142 people and I haven’t seen them suddenly taken over the Sanctuary with their Uber helms. How many “New greatest build” video is showcasing their UBER unique they got? None? oh…

For all we know, this group of Devs didn’t even know about them. Two Devs teams ago implemented them several dozen builds and versions ago.

It does matter! The people who have possibly farmed 100’s of hours for something they probably will never see and then little jimmy who watched a streamer, hears the news of the bug, runs over and gets a uber unique is not fair at all.
Blizzard allowing these items to remain in the game is a disservice to the players that play the game the right way and who have put in time and effort.
