100% this - i also find the skills to be underpowered, uninteresting and a chore to use
They are loving this now and will milk this for as much as they can but in a month or two they will lose all their viewers because Diablo 4 will lose a lot of players.
I at least hope the dev listen to the complains
I hope you don’t mean metacritic, because lol.
Well I agree the game has a lot of issues and currently it has no longevity, but are they actually in a panic mode?
Because if a game is bad, if developers aren’t actively making changes, it means they have videos to make and things to complain about. There is never a shortage of content to be made for gaming channels.
Mix it with the fact that nearly everything explodes on death and you have the nice experience of slow-motion watching how you’re about to die because of the explosion, but you can’t do anything because you can’t move.
Every game loses “a lot of players” months after it’s released.
The difference is this game will have seasons to keep an ebb and flow of players returning and leaving as they consume the newly released content.
Look at Hogwarts Legacy. It didn’t even retain 10% of the players and not even half of them finished the game. But it was a commercial success.
They gave you a dodge button to use strategically not spam every time it’s up. And you are also able to CC the mobs. I think a lot of players don’t actually know that you can largely stun-lock mobs with almost any class and avoid pretty much all of the damage if you kill them fast enough.
You’re making a lot of assumptions there.
that would depend on loot drops would it not? and if your not enjoying the character’s skills and the loot drops are trash what incentive is there to slog through the map and dungeons that all feel the same?
Ya but this is a live service game meant to have legs for 5 years + already with a stale end game that’s just more of D3 is a bad thing.
What people don’t seem to realize is live service games go on life support if the player base dies.
Collecting the whole greater rift of mobs and drawing them to a central spot to faceroll them isn’t special. Combat where the mobs don’t provide any resistance to you isn’t special.
A shared world game, the combat has to be slower. Imagine you’re grinding helltides and some d3 monk comes along and wave of lights the whole screen and zooms off to the next screen. What mobs left for you? none.
Then you’ll be off to the forums to complain about respawn times are too slow. Then what? find your spot and stand in place waiting for quick respawns to encourage the zoom zoom monk from taking all the map for himself? You’re sharing space with others even you are playing solo. Just the way it is.
Come on… do some basic math there to understand its nearly perfect for casual to stay engaged to have something to do the whole season. You don’t need a streamer to tell you that. Seasons provide the longevity.
also lets not forget Diablo is a Seasons game.
We have not yet had a season effect in play (they “could” change how games enjoyed)
Yes the game has some issues but so did Diablo 3 at launch and ov yrs they have made it more long term enjoyment (view it as an outsider and dont cloud judgement if u hate the game)
when i first saw this in the beta i thought its a placeholder and not finished. but that this is going live was an big uff
Highlighting elite mobs is an accessibility feature. Signed, a visually impaired gamer.
You don’t need to imagine this. You just need to catch a WW barb in action.
First they collect the clicks by hyping this game up, now they collect clicks because the game has serious flaws. Most of them are just greedy sellouts. They knew whats wrong with the game, many of them had access for closed beta.
I disagree. That feels super easy, and gets old quick. What’s the incentive to continue playing if its so easy to feel powerful?
Nothing was less fun than D3 seasons, I’d get fully geared within 10 hours, then quit by 20 hours because there was nothing really left to accomplish beyond finding the same gear with 1% more stats.
This is pretty much the silliest post ever. OP is making false statements on an entire group of people as an example for an argument that is purely subjective. Funny how the three I’ve watched seem to be nothing short of excited for this game and what is coming.
“ Nothing was less fun than D3 seasons, I’d get fully geared within 10 hours, then quit by 20 hours because there was nothing really left to accomplish beyond finding the same gear with 1% more stats.”
Lol. Says they found nothing less fun than D3 seasons but states how they had so much experience doing it that they could one and done each season in less than 20 hours….
Ok bud…
