I have been in a Helltide for 26 minutes and have 72 shards. I have done multiple events, killed boss elites, annihilated every pack of enemies I have run into and never one gone back to town. Did the new patch break helltides?

Iām experiencing this as well. Had a full Waves of Darkness not give a single shard until the chest.
This is a known issue that they are looking into
